Here is a great project for those who are lucky enough to own a lathe at home.  Maybe it belongs to your wood working significant other.  It's then an opportunity to either learn to use one or work collaboratively!  If you are not that keen on using this power tool, it's still educational to see how it can be used to make jewelry.

See those colored sections?  Those are InLace resin inlay material.  It comes in a variety of colors and finishes such as metallic, pearl, stone, granules etc. It's popular with wood turners and gourd artists but has not been used much by jewelry artisans. I see possibilities, don't you?
