There are all sorts of cutters you can buy for polymer clay work. Not just from art and jewelry stores but also cookie cutters. It can get a tad expensive if you want different shapes. So check out
this easy tutorial by Ludmila Bakulina where she turns ordinary round metal cutters into custom shapes!
I like this idea because I am not fond of cutting clay shapes using a sharp tool and these templates.
She used shape templates though to draw onto paper. The drawings then helped her bend the round shapes into the ones she wanted.
The links she mentioned for purchasing cookie cutters are for a Russian site and eBay. So I searched for cheaper alternatives (at the time of writing). You can get this fabulous
Mrs. Anderson's Cookie Cutters, Graduated Round, 11-Piece Set with Storage Tin (affiliate link) for just $13! I would say that is very cost effective. It's now on my wish list!
