Josh Kohut, professor in the Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences who earned his doctoral degree in Physical Oceanography from Rutgers in 2002, is named the new SEBS Dean of Research and NJAES Director of Research. Read more.

Immersive Learning through Science Storytelling Lab developed by SEBS scientists, science storytellers and STEM learning researchers at Rutgers, won the 2025 Broader Vision Award from the Garden State Film Festival for using the art of filmmaking for the greater good. Read more.

Founding IT Director for SEBS/NJAES Greg DiLalo recently retired but his connection to Rutgers spans more than 50 consecutive years, starting with matriculating among the first class of Cook College in 1973. Read more.

Prof. Jim White and team were presented the Agriculture Innovation Ward at the inaugural Rutgers Innovation Awards, which recognize researchers who have translated world-class research into an invention or innovation that would benefit society. Read more.

Mettler’s Woods, one of the state’s last remaining virgin forests and part of a 500-acre preserve managed by the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Natural Resources, was chosen for preservation by the Old-Growth Forest Network. Read more.
