Youth Engagement

SEBS Hosts 2025 Youth Institute

Rutgers plays a leading role each year at the New Jersey Agricultural Convention and Trade Show, developing and hosting a wide range of educational programs that address the current and emerging needs of Garden State growers. Read more.

Fall 2025 course registration begins on March 31 and some continuing SEBS students choosing their courses will have the opportunity of being taught in the classroom or conducting research in the lab with one of more than a dozen new faculty hired at the school over the last several months. SEBS Meteorology program hosted New Jersey high school students, grades 9–11, in a day-long event that included talks, activities, and demonstrations designed to introduce the students to the world of meteorology and atmospheric science. Read more.

Research

Josh Kohut, professor in marine sciences and dean of research at SEBS, co-led research using AI-powered tools to improve on present abilities to monitor the ocean for the distribution of important marine species, such as the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale. Read more.
