Rutgers evolutionary biologist Debashish Bhattacharya and collaborators found that ancient red algae thriving in extreme environments underpin entire microbial ecosystems, providing new insights into the evolution of complex life and promising new opportunities for biotechnology. Read more

Researchers at Yellowstone National Park

Research shows that recreational athletes maintained their endurance and strength after switching from an omnivorous to a plant-based diet for four weeks. The study, coauthored by nutrition researcher Peggy Policastro, found no significant differences in running distance or weightlifting performance. Read more
