Sweden suicide bomber: Taimur Abdulwahab al-Abdaly was living in Britain Telegraph

An Islamic suicide bomber who attacked Christmas shoppers in Sweden at the weekend is a British university graduate and was living in this country until two weeks ago.

Taimur Abdulwahab al-Abdaly tried to set off a car bomb packed with gas canisters in a busy shopping street in Stockholm. The car caught fire and the bomber fled the scene before blowing himself up 300yd away 15 minutes later, injuring two bystanders.

It emerged last night that Abdulwahab, who was due to turn 29 yesterday, is a former physical therapy student at Bedfordshire University in Luton, and that his wife and three young children still live in the town.

MI5 is now investigating possible links with extremists in Luton, whether the bomber was radicalised at the university and claims that he was helped by an extremist group in Yemen, the base for al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.

The suicide bombing follows an attempt by Umar Farouq Abdulmutallab, a former student at University College London, to blow himself up last Christmas on a flight to Detroit.

Abdulmutallab had trained in Yemen, but had become increasingly radical during his time in Britain. The security services and police are concerned that British university campuses have become breeding grounds for extremism. Neighbours told The Daily Telegraph last night that they had last seen Abdulwahab at the 1930s semi-detached house in Luton, Beds, two and a half weeks ago. The couple have two young girls and a baby son. His wife, Mona, a Swedish citizen, is said to run a home beauty company.

Tahir Hussain, 33, a taxi driver who lives nearby, said: “I used to see him around often. He didn’t say much but seemed nice. I used to see him walking with his kids.

“I was shocked when I heard what happened because I never thought he could do such a thing.”

Mr Hussain said that the couple had been living there for a year and that Abdulwahab used to go to Friday prayers at the Islamic Centre in Luton.

Bloomberg is lobbying for 911 taxpayer funds for Islamic supremacist grifters behind the Ground Zero mosque, but the St. Nicholas church is in purgatory, ten years after the worst day in modern American history.

St. Nicholas Church sues Port Authority, claims that agency is blocking church's reconstruction NY Daily News

A notice of claim was filed Monday on behalf of St. Nicholas Church and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, declaring their intention to sue.

"This claim arises out of the arrogance, bad faith and fraudulent conduct of the Port Authority in preventing St. Nicholas from re-building its church at Ground Zero," the church says in its legal filings.

NEW YORK — A Greek Orthodox church destroyed on Sept. 11 is taking legal action against the agency that owns ground zero, saying it's reneged on a promise to rebuild the church.'

The Wall Street Journal reports that St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church filed a notice of claim against the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on Monday. The papers seeks to compel the agency to live up to what it says is a "binding preliminary agreement."

Sunday, December 5, 2010, the congregation of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church gathered at Ground Zero.

 

This was a Vesper Service for the Feast of St. Nicholas and, nine years after the Twin Towers collapsed onto this tiny 80 years old church, it’s a mystery WHY it remains un-built.

They still have no church to worship in as they did for 80 years.

As we arrived and were being permitted to enter the Ground Zero construction area, the media was being told NO Cameras. No filming was going to be allowed for ‘security’ reasons!  Some of the press was packing up their tripods and cameras. Wonder if some of the left? I was very surprised (as was everyone) at these restrictions. About 15 minutes later, little by little, the word began to spread that only SOME people could film (the diocese) but that too was still ridiculous since this was an event to which the media was invited. Another 10 minutes or so  and  everyone started filming, so I figured that meant me, too. But, never was there a formal “Go” just a sort of whispered…I guess we can film now….

The children of St. Nicholas carried precious artifacts that were damaged yet miraculously survived on that horrific day:A splintered wooden icon, a tattered altar cloth, a crushed silver bowl, a twisted candelabra, a VERY bent brass bell, mangled candles and a liturgical book.

The vespers service last about 45 minutes. The video  is excerpts from the service with the complete homily from His Eminence, Archbishop Demetrious, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church in America.

There was a large turnout by the congregation and media. However, it wasn’t clear who the other reporters were other than  The Daily News who identified herself and you’ll see City Comptroller, John Liu in the crowd. Since he’s been  a very vocal supporter of The Ground Zero Mosque and supports the use of city loans and grants for said mosque, what about St. Nicholas? Will he go on record in giving the same support to the rebuilding of the church? Will he support it financially, too?

Regarding it location, I was told the church (whenever it is permitted to rebuild) will not be at its original location, but just east of that lot. Which can be see a few times in the back ground of the video.

I’m sorry there’s distracting motion during the Archbishop’s homily. Without the tripod I was getting tired and fighting the sun. It’s only a few times. His homily is worth listening to for what he said in front of City Comptroller, JohnLiu, describing the Church of St. Nicholas in “Ground Zero Mosque Community Center terms”. It’s  outrageous that we haven’t heard enough, barely anything really, from the Mayor and his minions regarding the Church of St. Nicholas. But, since The city is falling all over itself to build a mosque in a clothing store and stonewalls a church that was in that location for 80 years, it seems more than a bit sad that they feel they must also be a ‘community center’.

This  should be a huge a story but the media coverage was low-key to nothing. Its up to us to make St. Nicholas a priority.

KARACHI, Pakistan — Pakistani authorities have arrested a doctor on suspicion of violating the country's contentious blasphemy law by throwing away a business card of a man who shared the name of Islam's prophet, Muhammad, police said Sunday.

The blasphemy law has been widely criticized by human rights groups following the case of Asia Bibi, a Christian woman sentenced to death last month for insulting Islam. Critics say the law should be amended or repealed because it is often used to settle grudges, persecute minorities and fan religious extremism.

Naushad Valiyani, a Muslim doctor in the southern city of Hyderabad, was arrested Friday after a complaint was lodged with police alleging his actions had insulted the Prophet Muhammad, said regional police chief Mushtaq Shah.

The Wreaths were placed in front of The World Trade Center Sphere, one of the most heart wrenching architectural corpses, placed in Battery Park as a temporary memorial to the events of 9/11. "The Sphere," a sculpture by Fritz Koenig that stood at the World Trade Center as a symbol of world peace, was relocated to Battery Park on March 11, 2002, six months after the Muslim terrorist attacks. An eternal flame was added -- and lit -- on September 11, 2002, "in honor of all those who were lost." The Sphere, the plaque adds, "endures as an icon of hope and the indestructible spirit of this country."

Walmart was sponsoring the third national rollout of Wreaths Across America, a placement of Christmas wreaths in 100 cities across the US (including Arlington National Cemetery and Valley Forge, PA), in twenty-four locations overseas, and on ships at sea. It had originally been the idea of a Maine wreath manufacturer who, nineteen years ago, had extra wreaths in inventory at the end of the Christmas  season which he took to Arlington. This would the third year of the national event, the second year that Walmart had come to New York City, a city whose government today considers Walmart as anti-labor and "unworthy" of having a store in New York. How many Walmart workers who worked there way up to full time employees with enough stock options to retire comfortably - or who quickly got their first job at Walmart after they fled the chaos of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina - is another story.

The wreaths placed in Manhattan on Friday for Saturday's ceremonies by soldiers from Ft. Hamilton in Brooklyn, Boy Scouts and civilian volunteers were for the approximately 2872 people who lost their lives on 9/11 at the World Trade Center and for 90 New York soldiers who had died since 9/11 in the service of their country. There were also wreath stands layed out on the park grounds where family members and service men and women from both groups could personally place a wreath, handed out from the Walmart truck,in honor of people close to them who died on 9/11 or in military service.

One of the people placing a wreath shortly after the ceremonies was New York Fire Commissioner Salvatore Cassano. He is a Vietnam Veteran who earlier had spoken of the over 300 firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11 with their 4400 years worth of experience in the NYFD. I walked over the Commissioner in the field of wreaths because I was compelled to tell him a true story, one I previously chronicled in a blog piece years ago.

"Mr. Commissioner, I have to tell you this. Shorty after 9/11, a group of New York City firefighters were given a holiday in Jupiter, Florida. I was in the (West Palm Beach) Florida airport when they arrived in their dress uniforms. Suddenly, some woman recognized them and asked out loud if they were the New York firefighters - and the whole airport (around them) broke into applause."

"Thank you for telling me that story," Commissioner Cassano said.

Another person who came to Battery Park on Saturday morning was an Army veteran volunteer, a black man who told me his name was Clyde. He was part of a veterans' group who goes around the country supporting the troops. Clyde will be going to Walter Reed Hospital in February, the Fisher House for families of veterans visiting them http://www.fisherhouse.org/ and to shopping malls, and nearby monuments.

The ceremonies started with an introduction and an invocation by a young woman, a Command Sergeant Major from Fort Hamilton. Then Deputy NY Police Commissioner James Shea,  head of the Joint Terrorism Task Force, spoke about those that died on 9/11 and said, "As time passes, you remember how blessed you are to have known them." Yet "nothing can relieve that loss."

The President of the United War Veterans Council, Vincent McGowan, said, "Our Liberty is something we have to defend every day." When New York Fire Commissioner Cassano spoke, he talked about how the City is now better trained and equipped. He also spoke of how he visited Walter Reed Hospital and many of the soldiers told him they had joined the military because of what happened on 9/11 and the bravery and sacrifice of the uniformed city officers and firefighters at the World Trade Center.

Commissioner Cassano then read an official Proclamation from Mayor Bloomberg, declaring Saturday, December 11th as "Wreaths Across America Day" in New York. The proclamation was presented to the main Walmart official there, an Air Force veteran who had come down from Worcester, Massachusetts. Mayor Bloomberg, in his proclamation, talked about New York's military history and had said that "No words are adequate to replay our fallen heroes," calling on New Yorkers to reflect on the "selflessness of our soldiers."

Gold Star Mom and illustrator Kathryn Cross spoke. Her son was training as a Navy SEAL, having lost his life in stormy conditions in Iceland. She gave the history of Wreaths Across America that I detailed above and spoke of her coming twice a week to Manhattan to lay flowers for her son.

The ceremonies ended quietly and the crowd began to disperse. Tourists who had stopped to listen on their way to get tickets for a boat ride to the Statue of Liberty continued on their way. One could say that Walmart had gathered the best greeters they could find, even though they have no store in New York City.

The imam who recently accused two infidels of "hate speech" should, along with the accused, be given a lie detector test. Because if the imam is lying, he should prosecuted to the full extent of the law -- the same law that he hopes will indict the two infidel boys. These false accusations will incite Muslim hate and violence against non-Muslims here and across the world.

We know that imams lie. Anwar Awlaki was the go-to imam for all things Islam after 911 for a long while. The Times and WaPo were punked when it emerged that Awlaki was the imam to a couple of the 911 terrorists.

The imam to Zazi the nazi was indicted for lying. Zazi was the devout Muslim who planned to blow up the NYC subway, mass transit systems, sporting events, stadiums, His imam lied to authorities. He was indicted on perjury charges. He lied for Zazi so that Zazi could inflict as much murder and mayhem as he possibly could on NYC.

Imams (like Feisel Rauf) lie for jihad.

Every Islamic attack (tens of thousands since 911) has had the imprimatur of a Muslim cleric.

Lying about "hate crime" should be reclassified as a "hate crime." And faked hate crime should be vigorously prosecuted as well.

And so it begins .......Sweden's first suicide bombing.

(Updated 3) A car exploded at the busy shopping street Drottninggatan in central Stockholm. Then there was another explosion some distance away and one man died. According to news agency TT, a man had blown himself to death. He carried six interconnected pipe bombs but only one exploded. He also had a backpack full of nails, according to newspaper Aftonbladet.
 
Alarm calls started to pour in to the Emergency Services from concerned residents after the explosions in central Stockholm on Saturday afternoon. But the initial information from the police was very unclear. The initial information described two car explosions, but later it proved to be just about one.

“A car at street Olof Palmes gata has exploded, we got the alarm at two minutes over five o'clock PM. Two minutes later, we received yet another alarm about an explosion from street Bryggargatan some distance away," said Ulf Göranzon, at the Stockholm Police.

A man was found dead at the place of the second explosion . According to news agency TT the police assumes that the man was not damaged in the car explosion, but that he somehow blasted himself.

Police bomb technicians examined the dead man's bag by using a bomb robot. Radiographs show that it contained a large quantity of nails and an unknown substance which is suspected to be explosives.

At least four ambulances were sent to the scene. Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries, they had been in the vicinity of the explosions.

According to witnesses, the man shouted something in Arabic before the bomb detonated.

The Swedish news agency TT reports that both them and the Swedish Security Service received a video-film only ten minutes before the explosions.

In the film a man addresses to "Sweden and the Swedish people". He, among else, refers to the Swedish silence on artist Lars Vilks paintings of the muslim prophet Mohammed, the Swedish soldiers in Afghanistan, saying that "now shall your children, daughters and sisters die as our brothers and sisters and children are dying."

The Security Service and the Stockholm Police are in a meeting following the explosions.

There is however still much confusion. The Security Service do not want to make any statement in the current situation. Safety measures have not been increased in Stockholm

STOCKHOLM — One man was killed and two other people were injured when two explosions hit the heart of Stockholm’s city-center shopping district on Saturday evening, the police in the Swedish capital said. The country’s foreign minister called the blasts a terrorist attack, and an e-mail to news organizations minutes before the blasts seemed to link them to anger over anti-Islamic cartoons and the war in Afghanistan.

The police said that a car parked near the busy shopping street of Drottninggatan exploded first, shortly before 5 p.m. Stockholm time, and that the wreckage of the vehicle included gas canisters. A second blast followed minutes later, and about 200 yards from the first. A man’s body, with blast injuries to his abdomen, was discovered after the second explosion.
 
Swedish newspapers portrayed the dead man as a suicide bomber, and the newspaper Aftonbladet said on its Web site that he had been carrying pipe bombs and a backpack full of nails. But the police declined to confirm this. “We are in the middle of a technical investigation, and we are working methodically to find out what happened,” said a police spokeswoman, Petra Sjolander, who refused to speculate about whether the blasts were a terrorist attack.

Two explosions rocked the busy shopping street of Drottninggatan among the afternoon crowds.

A Swedish news agency said it had received messages about 10 minutes before the blasts in Arabic and Swedish, warning of unspecified “action”.

The email warning, 10 minutes before the bombs, protested about the country’s presence in Afghanistan, where it has a force of 500 soldiers, mainly in the north of the country.
