DEFENDING THE WEST
Another rabbi enabler of Islamic oppression
Exclusive: Pamela Geller quotes leaders condemning her for 'rants' defending human rights
The controversy over my appearance last month in Canada, after the
police pressured a dhimmi rabbi into canceling the initial venue planned
for my talk, just keeps roiling. Monday in the Toronto Star, another dhimmi rabbi piled on. Right on the heels of three anti-Semitic attacks in Montreal, another Canadian rabbi saw fit to condemn … a fellow Jew.
Rabbi Dow Marmur wrote that “people engaged in interfaith work should
always compare the best in their own religion with the best in that of
others. This has helped me not to judge Christianity by the
anti-Semitism in some of its teachings and not to condemn Islam because
Islamist extremists cause havoc in different parts of the world.”
Rabbi Marmur is stating the problem in false terms. I have never
compared Judaism, let alone the best of Judaism, with the worst of other
religions. My work is not about condemning Islam; it’s about defending
human rights. It may be wrong to judge Christianity by the anti-Semitism
in some of its teachings, but it would be equally wrong, or worse, to
avoid confronting and challenging Christian anti-Semitism wherever it
appears just because some Christians are not anti-Semitic. And genuinely
non-anti-Semitic Christians should not object to a challenge to
Christian anti-Semites; indeed, they should join in such a challenge. At
Vatican II, the Catholic Church repudiated Christian anti-Semitism –
why can’t we get Muslims to repudiate jihad, Islamic supremacism,
Islamic Jew-hatred, etc.?
If “Islamist extremists” are causing havoc, it is not wrong to
challenge them and ask Muslims who supposedly reject “extremism” to
address the Islamic teachings that give rise to that “extremism,” and to
reject and reform those teachings. And genuinely peaceful Muslims
should be calling for the same thing and standing with us.
But Marmur, in contrast, said that he avoided Jews “who compare the
best in Judaism with the worst in other religions. In view of recent
incidents in Boston, London and Paris, and riots in Stockholm and
elsewhere, a lot of people are prone to such distortions of Islam.”
Yeah, and they’re the jihadists in Boston, London and Paris. Each one
explained his actions by referring to Islamic teaching. The rabbi is
falling into the Islamic supremacist trap of thinking that it’s
“Islamophobic” for non-Muslims to point out that jihadists use Islamic
texts and teachings to justify their actions, and to call on Muslims who
claim to reject this understanding of Islam to do something effective
to counter it.
And of course one of the Jews to which Marmur objected was me. He
wrote: “Echoing statements by responsible Jewish leaders in the United
States, Rabbi Eric Yoffie, the immediate past president of the Union for
Reform Judaism, has described her in a recent Jerusalem Post column as ‘a bigot and a purveyor of hate.’”
There's more. Read it all.
Let me say this, they are going to need a helluva lot more than a petition to stop the savage supremacists in power in Egypt. The Islamic theocrats have Obama's support -- he sent the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt 140,000 canisters of tear gas. And America still gives this tinpot dictator of ours a 50% approval rating (further proof of the enemedia's influence).
15 Million Egyptians Sign Anti-Morsi Petition Pat Dollard, June 11, 2013
Excerpted from ISRAEL NATIONAL NEWS
Nearly 15 million people have signed a petition to hold early
presidential elections, in a campaign seeking to “remove confidence” in
Egypt’s Islamist President Mohamed Morsi, Egypt Independent reported.
Tamarod, the opposition campaigned meaning “rebel” in Arabic, was
launched in May, attempting to 15 million signatures to outnumber the
votes gained by Morsi in last year’s presidential election.
The opposition is campaign “studying the possibility of
confidentially submitting the forms to the Supreme Constitutional Court”
before June 30,” said spokesperson Mahmoud Badr.
“We are printing the forms on CDs to preserve them,” Badr said.
Morsi’s tenure as president has been marked by severe political turmoil and opposition.

"Ain’t no commodity: Woman ‘auctioned by her in-laws’ recovered"
By Owais Jafri
Published: June 11, 2013,
The Express Tribune (with the International Herald Tribune) thanks to The Armaros
Police on Monday recovered a woman allegedly ‘auctioned’ on
the orders of a panchayat in Dera Ghazi Khan on Sunday and arrested the
man who had bought her. Fifteen others, including the woman’s husband
and panchayat members, were also arrested.
Kot Chutta DSP Nadeem Butt said the 25-year-old woman, a resident of
Darkhawast Jamal Ghuzar- an area along the tribal belt of the district-
was accused by her in-laws of immoral activity. The DSP said that her
husband and brothers-in-law had claimed of catching her with a man from
the neighbourhood several times.
On Sunday night, the DSP said, her husband called a panchayat.
Witnesses told police that the panchayat had ordered the man who she was accused of having an affair with to leave the area.
The man was told he would be stoned to death if he returned to the area.
DSP Butt said the panchayat had ordered the woman’s husband to confine her inside the house, but he had refused to accept her.
“He told the panchayat that he did not want to keep her because she
had damaged his ‘honour’. The panchayat then ordered him to sell her,”
the DSP added.
He said the woman was sold for Rs350,000 in an open auction. The man who bought her was told not to bring her back in the area.
[...]
The DSP said after the news of the woman’s auction reached the
police, the buyer’s home was raided. The woman was recovered and taken
to an undisclosed place.
The buyer was arrested. He told police that he was planning to sell
her in Balochistan. He said he was not aware of any panchayat decision.
He said, “I just came to know that a woman was being sold in Kaloi area and went to buy her.”
DSP Butt said 15 other men, including the woman’s husband, two brothers-in-law and panchayat members, had been arrested.
More tolerance and inter-faith barbarity from the religion of supremacists. Mind you, there are no blaspehmy laws un Ethiopia but then again there are no blasphemy laws in the US but one youtube filmmaker is rotting in prison for a you tube film offensive to Muslims.
Two Christians Unlawfully Arrested in Ethiopia for “Crimes Against Islam”
Persecution.org June 12, 2013 (thanks to Armaros)
6/10/2013 Washington D.C. (International Christian
Concern) – International Christian Concern (ICC) has learned that two
Christian men were arrested in Ethiopia by local police influenced by
radical Muslims. In separate incidents, these men were detained by local
police for what authorities are calling “crimes against Islam,” even
though no such crime exists in Ethiopia’s penal code.
In late March, Alemlayehu Legese was arrested by local police in Dodola,
a city located 180 miles south of Addis Ababa, after admitting to
owning literature that “discussed the history of Islam from a Christian
perspective.” Legese, a student at Dodola Mekane Yesus Bible School,
dropped off the literature at a copy shop where a Muslim employee who
felt Christians should not be allowed to read about the history of Islam
contacted police. “The police officers treated this incident as if it were a terrorist attack,” an ICC representative in Ethiopia said.
Fearful the investigation could lead to widespread violence, the local
church advised Legese to report to the police and admit to owning the
literature. Upon reporting to the police, Legese was arrested and
imprisoned. When ICC asked why Legese was being imprisoned without being
formally charged, the local police commander said they were detaining
Legese to “cool down the anger of local Muslims.” It has been over two
months since Legese was imprisoned, formal charges are yet to be laid
against him.
On May 25, Tamirat Woldegiorgis, a Christian living in Moyale Town,
located on Ethiopia’s border with Kenya, was arrested by local police.
Many are concerned this arrest is connected to a previous arbitrary
detention Woldegiorgis served from 2010-2012, when he spent 22 months in
prison because local police accused him of “crimes against Islam.”
Local radicals claimed that Woldegiorgis wrote “Jesus is Lord” on the
notebook of a student attending a local madrassa. Woldegiorgis was
released on May 2, 2012 when human rights organizations, including ICC,
became involved in the case. Woldegiorgis was again released on June 5,
but was required to pay a bail of $5,319 for an unspecified criminal
charge and will still face court hearings on June 10.
More tolerance and respect from savages.
Clearly Ziko Sulliman thinks that Muslims should never
sympathize with Infidels. And like so many other Islamic supremacists,
he is ready to use violence to enforce his hard line. So here yet again
is another indication of why we don't see more genuine Muslim reformers.
"Man alleged to have slashed friends after they voiced support for
Woolwich victim, Lee Rigby," by Neil Hunter for the Darlington & Stockton Times, June 6 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
A MAN is facing court over claims he slashed two friends when they sympathised with murdered soldier Lee Rigby.
Ziko Sulliman - from Sudan - is said to have attacked his friends as they chatted days after the gunner's death.
Sulliman appeared in court today (June 6) on charges of wounding with
intent to do grievous bodily harm, wounding and having a blade.
The 27-year-old, of Aire Street, Middlesbrough, did not enter any pleas during the five-minute hearing at Teesside Crown Court.
He appeared via a live video-link from Holme House Prison, in nearby Stockton, wearing a short-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.
Saying "yes" each time, he spoke only to confirm his name and to say
he could clearly hear the proceedings across the television link.
Judge Peter Bowers remanded Sulliman in custody until a plea and case management hearing which is scheduled for mid-August.
Defence solicitor Andrew Teate said: "He requires an Arabic
interpreter and there is no doubt he will need that interpretation for
at least the next hearing and then a trial or sentencing exercise.
"It is quite clear his English is extremely limited. It is, quite
frankly, impossible to take his instructions and this is not an
appropriate time for him to enter a plea.
"At this stage, it would be impossible and unfair to say whether it will be a trial."
Sulliman is alleged to have knifed the two men in Fife Street,
Middlesbrough, on May 29 - a week after Drummer Rigby was hacked to
death in Woolwich, south London.
Two men have been charged with the 25-year-old soldier's murder, and have been remanded in custody. No pleas have been entered.
One of Sulliman's alleged victims, Zakaria Hamed, suffered a three-inch wound to his cheek and was stabbed in the leg.
And the other, Khalid Osman, is said to have been slashed across the hand....

Teacher in Egypt Sentenced for 'Defaming' Islam
Christian fined beyond ability to pay; civil trial looms. By Our Middle East Correspondent
CAIRO, Egypt, June 11, 2013 (Morning Star News)
– A judge in Upper Egypt found a Christian teacher guilty of defaming
Islam today and levied a massive fine against her after prohibiting her
lawyers from presenting a single witness during the trial.
Dimyana Obeid Abd Al-Nour escaped jail time, but she was fined 100,000
Egyptian pounds (US$14,270), far beyond her ability to pay.
She is on the verge of a nervous breakdown, her father, Ebed Abd
Al-Nour, told Morning Star News. He said his daughter did nothing wrong.
“I am very upset right now by the sentence,” he said. “My daughter is innocent and should not have been given such a sentence.”
He then became overcome with emotion and declined to comment further.
Al-Nour a 24-year-old, first-year teacher in Egypt, made less than
US$300 a month before she lost her position in the wake of the
accusations against her. Her family is poor, and she could be sent to
jail for failure to pay a court-ordered fine if unable to find the
money.
Muslims created a clamor in the courtroom that put intense pressure on
the judge, said a human rights advocate who was surprised that the
guilty verdict did not send her to prison.
“I personally was expecting a prison sentence, but thank God she was
only given a fine,” said Mohammed Noubi, a human rights advocate with
the Luxor office of the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights (EIPR).
“There was a lot of pressure and uproar inside the courtroom.”
On April 10,
three elementary schoolchildren at Sheikh Sultan Primary School in the
village of Al-Edisat, Luxor Province, along with their parents and some
teachers, complained to the school administration that Al-Nour had made
blasphemous comments while teaching. Two days earlier, while teaching a
class about history and religion, she discussed pharaoh Amenhotep IV,
later known as Akhenaten, who did away with all other Egyptian gods in
favor of sun worship in ancient Egypt (see Morning Star News, May 15).
Al-Nour also reportedly expressed her admiration for the former head of
the Coptic Orthodox Church, the late Pope Shenouda III, in class. In
some versions of the alleged incident, she also made comparisons between
Shenouda and Muhammad, the prophet of Islam. Three students said she
made a gesture expressing disgust with Muhammad.
When the complaint was made, a group of head teachers and parents, known
as the School Council, conducted an investigation into the allegations.
They found there wasn’t any reliable evidence that Al-Nour had
committed any offense, according to EIPR sources.
When the students were questioned, three of them said she had said or
done something wrong. But the three students’ versions of what gesture
Al-Nour allegedly made and what she allegedly said did not match up,
according to EIPR. Also, the rest of the students in the class, 10 in
all, said Al-Nour was blameless and never even mentioned the late pope
or Muhammad.
A survey of the staff at the school revealed that she was widely respected by her colleagues, according to EIPR.
The School Council’s report was turned into the provincial governor’s
office and to the legal department of the local office of the national
Ministry of Education, which then conducted its own investigation; like
the School Council, it found no crime had been committed. By chance, a
school inspector happened to be monitoring the class Al-Nour was
teaching but found nothing wrong with her instruction.
The case likely would have been dropped, but two attorneys representing
the parents of one student went directly to the prosecutor’s office,
obligating officials to conduct their own investigation. In what are
known as “hisba cases,” Egyptian law allows citizens to file
lawsuits against anyone who has transgressed the “exalted right of God.”
Many blasphemy cases are filed in such a manner.
In court, Al-Nour’s lawyers were prepared to bring three crucial
witnesses, including Mustafa Mikki, principal of the school. In an
interview with the Coptic weekly Al-Watani, Mikki, a Muslim, said that those who brought the charges against Al-Nour were “fanatics.”
He also confirmed that none of the stories of the three children who
accused Al-Nour matched. But the judge in Al-Nour’s case, Muhammad
Al-Tamawy, would not let Mikki or anyone else testify on her behalf.
Noubi, who has helped Al-Nour’s legal team for EIPR, said that in
addition to the fine, Al-Nour has now been referred to a civil court, as
one of the complaining parents has filed a lawsuit against her. In
order for damages to be awarded in the civil case, Al-Nour first must
have been convicted of a crime. It is unknown how much money is sought
in the civil case.
Al-Nour, who has attended only one of her hearings, remains in hiding.
According to EIPR, the courtroom and surrounding area was swarming with
conservative Muslims protesting against her during the hearing she
attended.
Since then, she has been too sick to attend any of the hearings,
according to human rights activists and her family. Al-Nour was arrested
and held for two days, until her family was able to post bail with the
help from the church.
Noubi said her lawyers plan to appeal.
The accusations against Al-Nour reflect a growing trend in Egypt of
disproportionate use of the nation’s blasphemy statutes against members
of Egypt’s Christian minority since the Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohamed
Morsi came into power in June 2012, according to human rights advocates.

Police in Kahta, Turkey say they have recovered the body of a 16-year-old girl they say relatives buried alive in a so-called "honor" killing as punishment for talking to boys.
Turkish police found the girl's corpse after following up on an anonymous tip. The tipster told police that the family killed the girl shortly after deciding her fate at a family council meeting. Her body was then buried under a chicken pen.
The girl's family then reported her missing to the police. Police say that the girl had complained two months earlier that her grandfather beat her for talking to boys. Police, who identified the girl only by her initials, M.M., said she had significant amount of soil in her stomach and lungs, indicating she had been buried while still alive. "The autopsy result is blood-curdling. According to our findings, the girl - who had no bruises on her body and no sign of narcotics or poison in her blood - was alive and fully conscious when she was buried," one source reported. Police have arrested the girl's father, mother and grandfather. The mother has been released, but the father and grandfather remain in jail awaiting trial. The case is expected to bring highlight the issue of so-called "honor" killings in Turkey. Official statistics show that more than 200 such killings occur each year, accounting for nearly half of all murders in Turkey.
This weekend was glorious. Danita Kilcullen and Jack Gillies of Tea Party Fort Lauderdale invited me to speak to their dynamic organization this past Saturday. The event sold out, and so many notables and great patriots were in attendance.

Karen and Billy Vaughn, parents of fallen Navy Seal Eric Vaughn, were there. Karen and Billy were part of the press conference last month that revealed that military brass invited a Muslim
cleric to their children’s funeral in 2011 — an imam who "damned to hell" our fallen soldiers. Video here.

The Vaughns have started a remarkable organization for children who lost their fathers in the war, Operation 300. It is a
non-profit foundation designed to create a week-long experience for
children who have lost their fathers as a result of service to our
country. The camp provides these childen with the opportunity to participate in activities that
embody the spirit of adventure that characterized the lives of their
absent fathers, while fostering a culture of courage, strength, freedom,
endurance, honor and godly morality embodied by fearless patriots
throughout the history of our American Republic.
Please contribute to this extraordinary cause here.
The event was powerful. It followed the Florida premiere of Hating Breitbart, where I introduced the film maker, Andrew Marcus (below). Maura Flynn, the film's producer, is to his right.

Bumper sticker in the movie parking lot.
Also in attendance was South Florida talk show favorite Joyce Kaufman, Doug Giles and his daughters, "Clapper Memo" author Bob McCarty, Band of Mothers leader Bev Perlson, J Mark Campbell, Tom Trento, Jack Oliver, and so many others. Special mention to Jeannie Morris -- SIOA Florida -- who helps me enormously.
I will post the video if someone uploads it. I was blown away when two signs of my Atlas banner were auctioned off. Close to $3,000 was raised for our ad campaigns. When Big Fur Hat of IOTW suggested it, I laughed. It was his idea of auction off a signed Atlas banner. And he was right. New ads go up in San Francisco this week, thanks to these wonderful people. Special props to J. Mark Campbell for raising the bidding -- it was a brilliant moment.
More and more accommodation ......
REPORT: University of Chicago removed pews from 88-year old chapel to accommodate Islamic prayers Campus Forum, June 10, 2013 (hat tip snake)
University of Chicago (UC) administrators permanently removed pews from
an 88-year old chapel on campus in order to accommodate Islamic
prayers, according to a local news report.
A photograph of the chapel before the pews were removed last year.
Chicago NPR affiliate, WBEZ news, reported on May 23,
the pews, which are now part of display at the Museum of Contemporary
Art (MCA) Chicago, were “removed in order to provide Muslim students a
place to pray.”
Literature describing the artwork that was created by UC Director of Arts and Public Life Theaster Gates, also describes the removal of the pews as symbol of religious tolerance.
“The pews were recently removed from the chapel in order to offer
Muslim students a place to pray, a symbolic gesture of religious
tolerance,” according to an official description of the exhibit which includes a “set of repurposed pews from the University of Chicago’s campus church.”
A spokesperson for UC also appeared to confirm the reason for the pews’
removal in a statement emailed to Campus Reform on Friday.
“The benches were removed... to make Bond Chapel a more appropriate
comfortable space for its many uses: ceremonial, spiritual, and
artistic,” said Susie Allen.
Allen, however, said the primary purpose for the change, which was part
of a broader renovation, was to “accommodate the installation of a
Boroque-style organ.”
The UC Muslim Student Association (MSA) also announced in its 2012-2013 edition of The Complete Muslims Guide to UChicago that Friday prayers would be held in the chapel once renovation was complete.
“Bond Chapel is where Friday prayers will be held once construction is over,” it says.
“Insha'Allah, Jumuah prayer will be held in Bond Chapel every Friday
this quarter,” reads another announcement on the MSA Chicago website.
Free Speech Battle in Small-Town Tennessee Robert Spencer, FrontPage Magazine
Last
Tuesday, Bill Killian, U.S. Attorney of the Eastern District of
Tennessee, FBI Special
Agent Kenneth Moore, and Zak Mohyuddin of the
American Muslim Advisory Council hosted an event called “Public
Disclosure in a Diverse Society” in the town of Manchester, Tennessee.
My American Freedom Defense Initiative colleague Pamela Geller and I
called for a protest of what was clearly an event designed to intimidate
Americans into being afraid to criticize the elements of Islam that
give rise to violence and supremacism – and patriots turned out in
numbers far beyond what we expected.
Nearly 2,000 protesters assembled at the Manchester Convention Center
to register their disapproval of this latest Obama Administration
attempt to silence criticism of jihad and Islamic supremacism, and to
stigmatize the critics. When the event started, the room was filled way
beyond capacity, with people filling the aisles and standing in the
doorways – while many hundreds more continued to rally outside and wait
for news of what went on.
The event, predictably, was all about hate crimes, hate speech, and
how Tennesseans needed to be more inclusive and welcoming of the
increasing numbers of Muslims in their midst. Mohyuddin, Killian and
Moore all spoke with extraordinary condescension to the crowd, as if it
were taken for granted that their only reason for being suspicious of
Muslims was the color of their skin (Killian said exactly that) and
cultural differences. The audience, however, was having none of it, and
frequently shouted responses to the various (and numerous) disingenuous
and manipulative assertions coming from the speakers.
That gave the mainstream media their take on the event. In a peculiar
move coming from those who would seem to have a good bit to lose if the
freedom of speech were entirely subverted, mainstream media reporting
on the event uniformly portrayed the pro-free speech protesters as a
gang of racist, bigoted thugs, shouting down the valiant paladins of
tolerance.
Nicole Young’s report in the generally hopeless Nashville paper, The Tennessean,
was a case in point: “The interruptions,” it claimed, “were so intense
at times that attendee Elaine Smith, 55, of Bedford County, said she was
afraid of other audience members. ‘I came here because I wanted to
learn something … but I couldn’t hear because the audience was so
disrespectful,’ she said. ‘I cried when I got here. It makes me really
sad especially because these people say they’re Christians. The God I
worship doesn’t teach hate.’”
The claim that someone in the crowd was “afraid” of the other
audience members, as if these patriots who came out to defend the
freedom of speech were some gang of menacing thugs, bent on silencing
their foes by force, was utterly preposterous – this was not, after all,
a meeting of United Against Fascism or some other genuinely thuggish
Leftist group. But this, of course, is how the mainstream media always
portray those who oppose jihad and Islamic supremacism, and the facts be
damned.
Pamela Geller’s questions
are apposite: “The enemedia supporting the suppression and restriction
of free speech in America presents an interesting paradox. Are they so
clueless or self-important that they think they will be spared? Didn’t
the Obama administration spying on the AP and other news organizations
teach them anything?” Good questions for Nicole Young to ponder.
The Tennessean report, like Bill Killian, Kenneth Moore, and Zak
Mohyuddin at the “Public Disclosure in a Diverse Society” event,
completely ignores the genuine concern that people have about jihad and
Islamic supremacist activity, and the fact that Muslim groups (aided and
abetted by Barack Obama) use claims of “hate” and “bigotry” to shut
down honest discussion of how jihadists use the texts and teachings of
Islam to justify violence and supremacism.
Killian and Moore expatiated at length about how “inflammatory”
speech could violate civil rights laws, and how Arab and Muslim children
were being taunted in school, and how Tennesseans should be more
welcoming. But no one, of course, was there to defend the taunting of
Muslim or Arab schoolchildren. No one was there because he hated
foreigners. No one was there to defend sending people violent threats.
The protesters turned out in such unexpectedly high numbers because they
knew that truthful and accurate exploration of Islam’s violent
teachings has been deemed “inflammatory” by both Muslim groups and the
Obama regime — and that leaves us unable to examine the motives and
goals of jihad terrorists, or to defend ourselves adequately against
them. That’s why everyone was so upset with Killian, Moore, and
Mohyuddin, but the media were either oblivious to that fact or intent on
ignoring it.
One wonders who decided to hold an event like this in small-town
Tennessee, rather than some higher-profile area, in the first place. Did
the Justice Department and the U.S. Attorney’s office think that their
new suggestion that civil rights laws could be used to silence criticism
of Islam would escape notice if it were held in a place that is usually
outside the relentless gaze of the mainstream media? Did they hope to
float a trial balloon and see if their anti-free speech initiative would
be met with indifference and complacency in Manchester, Tennessee,
which might be an indication that it wouldn’t encounter serious
resistance in Nashville or Dallas or New York or Washington, either?
Whatever the real reason may be, their efforts failed. The patriots
who came to the Manchester event demonstrated to the Obama
Administration that their efforts to subvert the First Amendment will
not go unchallenged. That evening showed that the children and heirs of
those who were responsible for the Boston Tea Party and other
manifestations of resistance to tyranny have not all become willfully
ignorant and complacent. And resist tyranny we will, once again.

People Power Against the Department of Justice Cliff Kincaid, Accuracy in Media,
June 7, 2013
The Council on American Islamic
Relations (CAIR), a key component of a network of Muslim Brotherhood
organizations in the U.S., called the turnout a “mob” and praised the
Obama/Holder Justice Department for standing up to local residents.
CAIR said “a large group of protesters
heckled and interrupted speeches by Bill Killian, U.S. Attorney of the
Eastern District of Tennessee, and by Kenneth Moore, FBI special agent
in charge of the Eastern Tennessee District.”
In fact, the DOJ had provoked the
reaction by announcing beforehand that people using the Internet to
criticize Muslims might be prosecuted for civil rights violations and
that the meeting on “public discourse in a free society” in Tennessee
would examine this alleged problem.
Killian had announced
in advance that he would address “how civil rights can be violated by
those who post inflammatory documents targeted at Muslims on social
media.”
In order to explain how the censorship
campaign would work, Killian and the local FBI agent, Kenneth Moore, had
worked with the American Muslim Advisory Council (AMAC) to schedule the
event at the Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center in Manchester,
Tennessee, on the night of June 4.
The center was completely filled,
however, and hundreds more had to rally outside, where Pamela Geller and
Robert Spencer, who co-founded Stop Islamization of Nations (SION),
spoke to the crowd. Videos show Geller and Spencer rallying the people on behalf of freedom of expression.
“I talked with many of the people who
had driven hours to get to the rally—a farmer and his son, an orthodox
Jewish family, World War II veterans and many more,” said James
Lafferty, chairman of the Virginia Anti-Shariah Task Force (VAST), who
was on the scene. “They all said the same thing—the Justice Department
is trying to curtail free speech by promising increased scrutiny of any
Internet posts which mention Islam.”
He said the angry reactions inside the conference center followed “a heavy dose of jihadist propaganda by the AMAC folks.”
He explained, “A long video
about Islam in Shelbyville, Tennessee, followed the usual B movie story
line—Muslims come to town, ignorant locals react badly. Muslims
demonstrate that they are honorable and just, ignorant locals and
Muslims are now the best of friends and there is a lesson here for
anyone else who doubts Islam’s noble intentions.”
He said the film footage of a few angry
people at the June 4 event “gave the stereotypical ‘angry mob’ scenario
for the hostile media,” but that Killian’s presentation was itself
“very condescending and provocative” because of the implication that
local residents had no right to complain about the spread of radical
Islam in their state.
An Islamic Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee features “Strong Islamic studies,” a term that implies Sharia, or Islamic law.
Lafferty said it was entirely
predictable that when Killian mentioned the name of the Attorney
General, Eric Holder, who is neck-deep in several scandals, people in
the audience booed. “Every mention of Holder had the same effect,” he
noted.
Killian’s speech, Lafferty said, was
that “Muslims are misunderstood and they are no different than you or
me” and any criticism of Islam is “hate-mongering and bigotry.”
“The biggest story of the event was the
crowd,” Lafferty said. While some people were angry and animated in
their reactions to Killian’s lecture on “hate crimes,” he said there was
intimate knowledge of Islamic practices and that when Muslim speakers
at the podium with Killian talked about Islam as a peaceful religion
which valued good citizenship, people interrupted with the word
“takiya,” a reference to the Islamic concept of deception.
However, CAIR and the Southern Poverty
Law Center (SPLC) insisted that local residents, as well as Geller and
Spencer, were at fault for reacting to the DOJ campaign against the
First Amendment. This became the story line of much of the coverage of
the event.
The SPLC works hand-in-glove with the Obama/Holder Justice Department, smearing opponents of radical Islam as “Islamophobes.”
But Lafferty of VAST said the focus was
“that a special meeting was being conducted to talk about the
Department of Justice’s commitment to protect the rights of one
religious group—Islam.”
Lafferty and others question why the
Justice Department has singled out Muslims for special protection and
that such a practice reflects adherence to Sharia, or Islamic law, over
and above American law and the Constitution.
He noted that the DOJ based this
meeting on the fact that a local Tennessee politician had posted a
stupid gag on Facebook about targeting Muslims, and that the incident
was “being used as the pushing off point for Justice to scrutinize every
statement about Islam on the Internet.”
“Both Pamela Geller and the
incomparable Robert Spencer spoke brilliantly about free speech and the
threat posed to it by government suppression,” Lafferty said.

Iraq hit by wave of bombings; dozens dead. Jihadists struck cities across Iraq on Monday with car bombs, suicide attacks and gun battles....
....... officials blame much of the violence that has
killed nearly 2,000 people since April on Sunni Islamist insurgents
linked to al Qaeda's local wing.
Most of the apparently coordinated violence
hit the north of the country and included at least eight suicide blasts
and gun battles at military bases or checkpoints.

On June 3, 2013,
Ansar Al-Islam, a jihadi group based in Iraq, announced it had launched an
official Twitter account, @ansar_al_islam, in order to "expand its
distribution scope through various certified platforms." According to the
announcement, which was posted on the leading jihadi forum Al-Fida', the new
account was named after Abdalla Khlaifani, a martyred commander, to
"recognize his status."
"All
statements, productions, etc. which are published [in this account]," the
announcement states, "will be official and issued by the group."
And the thing is, they are. Muslims from around the world -- the US, Europe, Africa, Asia -- are joining the jihad in Syria to fight for Islamic conquest and supremacism. Religious minorities are being annihilated by the jihadists, and yet another nation will fall to this brutal and bloody ideology.
Obama is aiding the jihadists; McCain is sneaking into Syria to pose for pics with them. The former is complicit, the latter is clueless. The outcome is the same.
Al-Qaeda
Leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri Calls Upon Muslims To Join The Jihad In Syria As Means
To Restore Caliphate, Defy U.S., Liberate Palestine MEMRI

In a 23-minute audio
message titled "65 Years after the Creation of the Occupying State of
Israel," Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri calls the creation of Israel a
crime and attacks the US for its consistent support of this country. He also
urges Muslims to join the jihad in Syria in order to free Palestine and restore
the Islamic Caliphate.
Online jihad
operatives associated with Jabhat Al-Nusra interpreted the message's content as
the Al-Qaeda leader's arbitration in the dispute regarding the effort by
Al-Qaeda in Iraq to incorporate Jabhat Al-Nusra into the so-called Islamic
State of Iraq and Syria. They contend that Al-Zawahiri's message officially
divided between the Syrian and Iraqi jihad arenas, and allowed Jabhat Al-Nusra
to maintain its organizational independence.
The following are
the main points of Al-Zawahiri's message, which was released on June 5, 2013 by
Al-Qaeda's media company Al-Sahab and was posted on leading jihadi forums.
In recent days Syrian opposition sources reported on Facebook
that the nephew of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki had died while fighting
in Damascus on behalf of the Syrian regime, and that his body had arrived in
Iraq. Members of the Jihadi forum Al-Fida cited these reports.
A female member on the forum cited a report that was
published May 31, 2013 on the Facebook page "'Umawi Live Syria" under
the heading: “The Nephew of the Rafidi Zoroastrian Iraqi Prime Minister Has Been Trampled
in Al-Saida Zainab [Tomb] in Damascus."
