H.R. 4305 would authorize the Department of Justice (DOJ) to make grants to nonprofit organizations to establish an alert system to assist law enforcement agencies in recovering missing children, elderly, and disabled individuals. Grants could also be used by recipients to improve the technology of the alert system, provide training for users of the system, and for other purposes.


S. 225, Access to Information About Missing Children Act of 2012

CBO estimates that implementing S. 225 would have no significant cost to the federal government. Enacting the bill would not affect direct spending and revenues; therefore, pay-as-you-go procedures do not apply.


H.R. 2541, Silviculture Regulatory Consistency Act

H.R. 2541 would prohibit the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from requiring a point source discharge permit (a type of permit issued under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) for water discharges from the following silvicultural activities: nursery operations; site preparation; reforestation; timber thinning; prescribed burning; pest and fire control; harvesting operations; surface drainage; or road use, construction, and maintenance.
