CBO's Macroeconomic Analysis Division is seeking a macroeconomist to join its fiscal policy studies unit. The unit uses a suite of economic models to assess the macroeconomic effects of federal fiscal policy and analyze emerging developments in the economy. The fiscal policy studies unit also works closely with the division’s projections unit, which produces the agency’s semiannual economic forecasts.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in economics (or a related discipline) or have a master’s degree and at least five years of relevant experience. They should have strong quantitative and modeling skills. Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in macroeconomic modeling, forecasting, or consulting—especially with quantitative analysis of fiscal policy.
