Chief Administrative Officer

CBO seeks to fill the position of Chief Administrative Officer, the senior executive position responsible for directing the agency’s Management, Business, and Information Services Division, which has a staff of approximately 30 people, including four unit managers. The division provides support services to CBO's management and other divisions in the areas of budget and finance, human resources, information technology, facilities and administrative services, and library services. The division also provides editorial and publishing services. In addition, the Chief Administrative Officer is CBO’s privacy officer and serves on the agency’s ethics committee. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the skills, knowledge, and experience to manage employees who have a diverse set of skills and knowledge and who perform a wide variety of tasks that are essential for the effective functioning of the agency. That will require a proven track record managing at least two of the following areas: financial management, human resources, administrative services, production of publications, and information resources. Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills are essential, and candidates should have at least a bachelor’s degree.   The position requires the ability to work collegially with staff throughout the agency, and to formulate, communicate, and implement human resources and administrative policies for the entire staff, many of whom have advanced degrees in economics, public policy, or related disciplines. Experience in the legislative branch is a plus. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. Successful candidate will be required to complete an annual financial disclosure. Salary and Benefits Salary is competitive with Executive Branch levels for senior executive positions and will be commensurate with experience, education, and other qualifications.
