The agency seeks an entry-level human resources specialist to work for a period not to exceed two years as part of a busy, tight-knit, five-person human resources team that is focused on customer service, reliability, and efficiency. This is a developmental position with responsibilities that include recruitment activities, confidential handling of day-to-day transactions, records management, and special projects. Specifically, this person will work on job posting and advertising, recruitment events, processing of job applicants, and candidate relations, among other tasks. Qualifications Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in recruitment or employee relations and strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask, organize, and meet tight deadlines are a must. Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Word and Excel are required. A high degree of accuracy, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and demonstrated attention to detail are essential. The candidate should be a conscientious self-starter with excellent follow-through who can work well as part of a team. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Experience with HR information systems, federal HR experience, and experience recruiting through social media are a plus, as is familiarity with other HR functions such as training, compensation, benefits, or diversity programs. Candidates must have, or be able to obtain, a favorably adjudicated Public Trust Investigation, which includes a credit check. A higher-level security clearance may be accepted in place of the Public Trust Investigation. Salary & Benefits Salary range is $50,000-$65,000.
