Administrative Assistant

The agency seeks an experienced administrative assistant to support multiple divisions in the agency.  The assistant will provide administrative support for several managers including, but not limited to, the Deputy Director, Chief Administrative Officer, Human Resources Director, and Chief Financial Officer. The assistant will also serve as a resource for other staff of the Director’s office and for staff of the Management, Business, and Information Services Division. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, tracking training and budget information, managing executives’ schedules, interacting with vendors, compiling data and briefing materials, and preparing time and attendance records. The assistant will interact with staff at all levels of the organization, as well as with Congressional staff, leadership of other federal agencies, people at professional and academic institutions, and the public. Qualifications This position requires the flexibility to track, prioritize, and execute multiple simultaneous responsibilities in various parts of the organization. In addition to outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail, candidates must have superb interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills. The ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion is imperative. The candidate should be a self-starter who can anticipate and troubleshoot problems and exhibit significant flexibility in accommodating the necessary work demands. Expertise in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel in a PC-Windows environment, and the ability to develop and maintain paper and computer record-keeping systems are also required. The candidate must have a minimum of three years’ administrative experience supporting senior level staff. Salary & Benefits Salary range starts at $40,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience, education, and other qualifications. CBO offers excellent benefits and an appealing work environment.
