Vendor Program Specialist

The Information Resource Management and Technology Services Unit seeks a self-motivated program specialist with a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Information Officer as part of a 13-person IT (information technology) shop. The position encompasses all aspects of customer service, including interacting with vendors and overseeing all IT contracts for purchasing equipment, materials, products, and services. The responsibilities include maintaining financial management systems, tracking and monitoring IT purchases and license renewals throughout their life cycle; tracking IT budget information; compiling data and briefing materials; and picking up/delivering IT equipment and supplies. Qualifications Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, communication, or IT and at least two years of administrative experience managing contracts or websites, preferably in an IT environment. This position requires the flexibility to track, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously. In addition to outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail, candidates must have superb interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills. Candidates should be self-starters who can anticipate and troubleshoot problems. Expertise in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel in a PC-Windows environment and the ability to develop and maintain computer recordkeeping systems are also required. The position requires the ability to occasionally lift and carry more than fifteen pounds.  Candidate must have, or be able to get, a favorably adjudicated Public Trust Investigation which includes a credit check. A higher level security clearance may be accepted in place of the Public Trust.
