Human Resources Intern

CBO’s Human Resources (HR) Office seeks an intern for the fall semester; the internship may be extended to the end of the school year. The intern will report to the Human Resources Director and work with a close-knit, four-person HR team. Responsibilities will be varied, providing experience in an array of HR functions. The intern will take on substantive projects related to federal benefits and pay, recruitment and onboarding, or personnel records management.

Qualifications

Candidates should be working toward a graduate degree in human resource management, industrial organizational psychology, business, or a related field. Students in their senior year of an undergraduate program in those fields will also be considered.

Candidates should have a strong work ethic, be able to handle multiple tasks at once, and be able to finish projects under tight deadlines. Strong    communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to deal discreetly with confidential information are required. Candidates should also be flexible and able to work well as a part of a team. Training or experience in human resources is desirable but not required.

Candidates must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation, which includes a credit check. A higher-level security clearance may be accepted in place of the Tier 2 investigation.

 

Salary and Benefits

The hourly salary ranges from $16 to $28 and will be commensurate with educational attainment and related experience. The selected candidate will be expected to work up to 20 hours per week, which may be scheduled around courses. CBO’s interns are eligible for a local transportation subsidy of up to $260 per month.
