CBO seeks an experienced attorney to fill the position of Assistant General Counsel, one of four attorney positions in the Office of General Counsel.
Working with CBO’s management and staff, the Assistant General Counsel will provide formal and informal advice about all of the areas of law affecting CBO’s operations, such as employment, procurement and contracting, appropriations, ethics, data access and use, and security. The Assistant General Counsel also will analyze and interpret legislative proposals and offer advice about the areas of the law addressed in analytical reports prepared for the Congress. In performing those duties, the Assistant General Counsel will interact with government officials at various levels, other lawyers inside and outside the government, members of the public, and Congressional staff.
