CBO seeks a Deputy Assistant Director to help lead its Tax Analysis Division. That division is responsible for analyzing federal tax policy and formulating CBO’s official 10-year projections of federal revenues. The division consists of about 16 analysts and 4 managers, most of whom have advanced degrees.

Applicants should have an advanced degree or equivalent graduate education in economics or a related discipline, as well as at least eight years of significant relevant experience. The position requires broad knowledge of public policy and substantial experience in analyzing it; experience with tax policy is preferred.
