CBO’s Budget Analysis Division seeks an analyst for its Health Systems and Medicare Cost Estimates Unit who will focus primarily on the Medicare program.

CBO’s analysts work closely with key Congressional staff members as they develop federal policy. Health care analysts prepare multiyear spending projections for federal health care and analyze the Administration’s budget proposals for those programs. They also prepare cost estimates for legislative proposals that could include, for example, changes in the federal financing of Medicare, in the delivery of services under that program, or in enrollees’ premiums and out-of-pocket costs.
