The unit prepares multiyear budget projections and produces cost estimates for legislative proposals for federal departments including Agriculture, Commerce, Energy, Homeland Security, Interior, Justice, and Transportation and for independent agencies including the Environmental Protection Agency, Federal Communications Commission, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and Small Business Administration.

The analyst’s portfolio of program areas may include such agencies as the Coast Guard, Federal Aviation Administration, and Department of Energy; the eventual portfolio will be determined at the time of hiring.
