CBO’s Office of Communications seeks an intern with a strong work ethic to assist with the agency’s media relations and public affairs during the upcoming winter semester with the potential to extend into the summer, starting in January 2021.The successful candidate will report to the Director of Communications and will serve as a key member of the communications team. Duties include responding to phone and email inquiries from the media and the public on a wide range of topics, attending and preparing for Congressional hearings, coordinating meetings with outside groups and international visitors, helping with preparations before the release of CBO’s major recurring reports, and working on other communications projects and planning as needed.

  

CBO’s Human Resources (HR) Office seeks a semester intern whose term could extend into the summer. The intern will report to the Chief Human Resources Officer and work with a close-knit, five-person HR team. Responsibilities will be varied, providing the intern with experience in an array of HR functions. The intern will take on substantive projects working with human resources information systems as well as compensation, federal benefits, recruitment and onboarding, or personnel records management.

  

The Congressional Budget Office is a small nonpartisan agency that provides economic and budgetary analysis to the Congress. Three units within CBO’s Budget Analysis Division are seeking a total of two assistant analysts. Specific duties will vary but will include research assistance, statistical analysis, fact-checking and quality assurance, database management, literature review, and graphics production to address policy questions and prepare analyses to meet the needs of Congressional committees.
