The agency has a number of positions available for visiting scholars. The visiting scholars’ terms will be from 4 to 12 months long and will occur during the period from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022.

Visiting scholars will interact with CBO’s staff on topics that may include climate and energy, finance, health care, labor and income security, macroeconomics, national security, or tax policy. While working with CBO’s staff, visiting scholars may collaborate on research to be published in professional journals, as technical information for staff on Capitol Hill, or for general audiences.

his opportunity is expected to be of particular interest to people on paid sabbatical from another institution; CBO will provide office space and computing support but will not provide a salary. Full- and part-time schedules are available.
