The Energy, Climate, and Environment Unit is seeking one or more economists to analyze the effects on the federal budget and the economy of climate change, policies to mitigate or adapt to climate change, and related issues.
Applicants must have either a Ph.D. in economics (or a related discipline) or a master’s degree with five years of relevant experience. They should have strong quantitative and modeling skills; preference will be given to candidates with experience modeling energy markets or systems that are important sources of climate change–related emissions.

Applicants must have either a Ph.D. in economics (or a related discipline) and 5 years of relevant experience or a master’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience. They should have strong quantitative and modeling skills. Preference will be given to candidates with experience either modeling the economic effects of climate change or climate change policies using economywide models (such as computable general equilibrium models or large-scale energy models) or modeling in specific sectors that are large energy consumers or significant contributors to climate change. Experience with programming languages and modeling tools such as Python, R, and GAMS is desirable.
