The successful candidate will work directly with the Staff Accountant and report to the OFM Controller. The intern will participate in a wide range of financial management tasks: documentation of standard operating procedures; process improvement; budget execution to include accounts payable; data automation and validation; account reconciliation; and internal controls. The internship offers the opportunity to work with staff members at various levels in many of the agency’s divisions, and the successful candidate will develop financial management skills in areas such as budget and accounting.
Candidates must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field. Candidates pursuing an undergraduate degree must be entering their junior or senior year in the fall of 2022. Candidates must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, effectively handle multiple tasks, and complete projects under tight deadlines. Excellent written and oral communications skills, technical skills, and attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
