The successful candidate will contribute to the full range of a unit’s responsibilities. Staff members are encouraged to actively participate in the policy research that is related to CBO’s mission by presenting papers at conferences, circulating preliminary research through CBO’s working paper series, and publishing in professional journals.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in economics or a related field, or a master’s degree in economics or a related field with a minimum of five years of relevant work experience. Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree and at least 15 years of experience who have highly specialized skills that are relevant to the functioning of the division may be considered.

The successful candidate will develop and maintain software for mathematical modeling and data manipulation, gather software requirements, develop software designs and document them, write clear code that is easy to read and understand, develop and automate software tests, and improve the software development process.

Applicants must have a B.S. in computer science or a related field and a minimum of eight years of experience in all stages of the software development cycle—including requirements gathering and analysis, design development, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
