The Congressional Budget Office is a nonpartisan federal agency that provides economic and budgetary analysis to the Congress. CBO’s Macroeconomic Analysis Division seeks a manager to lead its Fiscal Policy Studies Unit, which analyzes the macroeconomic effects of fiscal policy and communicates estimates of those effects to the Congress.
The unit chief supervises a team of analysts—most with advanced degrees in economics—and contributes to the division’s management. Key responsibilities include identifying issues in fiscal policy requiring attention and research, providing leadership and direction in completing that research and publishing the results, overseeing the development of economic models, and responding to requests from the Congress for information on and analysis of specific topics.
