Blythe Park PTA Happenings 09/03/2013

You’re invited to this year’s first PTA meeting to be held this Wednesday, September 4th at 7:00pm in the lunch/multi-purpose room. Please join us to meet the new Board and hear about exciting new programs for Blythe this year! As part of the September meeting the annual budget will be voted on.  The proposed changes to the standing rules are attached below for review.  At the close of the meeting, Mr. Chleboun will give a tour of the updated Blythe Park.  We hope you can join us!

The Board of Education will hold a Finance Committee meeting today Tuesday, September 3rd at 7:00pm in the Hauser Learning Resource Center.  The agenda can be found at the following link:

The Annual Box Tops for Education Summer Contest will end this week.  Please submit all the Box Tops you have clipped over the summer to the collection bin outside the school office (or to Mrs. Marchuk if collection bin has not been found yet) with your student’s name on the bag/envelope by this Friday, September 6th.

A cool prize will be awarded next week to the family that submits the most Box Tops.  If you have more than one child attending Blythe Park, each child will get credit for their individual classroom too.  Contact Paula Fritsch (708-853-9794) with any questions.

Tie dye t-shirts are back! Your family will be able to make their very own Blythe Park tie-dye t-shirts.  Place your order now and tie-dye your t-shirts on Friday, September 20th at the Ice Cream Social.  Short sleeve t-shirts are $15.00 and long sleeve t-shirts are $17.00.  The order deadline is Friday, September 13th. To celebrate the new school year and an updated school building, we are hoping to chalk all the sidewalk squares that surround Blythe Park with beautiful artwork.  So, come join in the fun!

How does it work? Sidewalk squares can be purchased for $3.00 each.  Purchase a family square or one for each member of your family.  Squares will need to be chalked with your artistic design on Wednesday, September 18th,  Thursday, September 19th or Friday, September 20th.  As part of this year’s ice cream social, we will have our very own art gallery on display.
