Wellness Wednesday is this week! The winning class of the November Bulldog Challenge will be announced and Paw Print charms will be distributed to all students who turned in their November fitness log sheets. December log sheets were distributed to all students, but are also available on the PTA website if you need one. Keep tracking your points!
We have a surprise guest for this month’s Wellness Wednesday. Make sure to ask your children all about it on Wednesday.
 Calling all Elves!
Come one, come all – we will continue the tradition of making handmade ornaments for the students and staff at Blythe Park. Our ornament workshop will be this Thursday morning at 9:00 at Blythe. Come for as long as you are able, the more the merrier (and the project gets done quicker!). See attached flyer. Thanks!

Let’s show our school spirit this Friday, December 13th. Encourage your kids to wear their Blythe Park clothing! Don’t forget to wear your Brain Game charms!
 PTA is hosting our first annual Holiday Bake Sale on December 20 from 3 to 6 pm and we need your confections! We hope to tempt Blythe families and all our neighbors to our first ever sale, and we need your irresistible treats! Any holiday confection is welcome – cookies, fudge, cupcakes – in any quantity! Please sign up here and plan to drop off your treats any time on Friday the 20th.
Hoping to bring some homemade goodies to holiday parties, but don’t have time to bake? Let the Blythe Bakers help! Bring your favorite tray and load it up with goodies to give or keep.
Volunteers needed for setup, sales and cleanup. Wear your ugliest holiday sweater and vie for a prize! Signup to work the bake sale, here, too!
Blythe Park’s Holiday Program will be performed on Monday, December 16th at 7:00pm in the Blythe Park Auditorium. The K-3rd graders will be performing “The Elves Impersonator”.
GS Troop 40690 is hosting a District 96 wide 5th grade only Sock Hop for Hope on Friday, December, 20 7 pm -9 pm in the Hauser gymnasium. Admission is $3, snacks $.50, photo booth photos $1. All proceeds go to the Kanuwloe Community School in Ghana, Africa. This is in direct support of Tom Lupfer’s trip to Ghana with International Needs Network (www.innetworkusa.org). All students will need to be signed in and out by an adult, however you will not need to stay with your child for the duration of the dance. You may enter Hauser through the parking lot, entrance 4. The Teacher’s Angel Closet is open again this year. Donations of warm weather clothing - coats, snow pants, boots, hats, gloves and other winter gear are being gratefully accepted. Just drop off that gently-used, outgrown gear to Mrs. Bryan or in the office. Thank you!
 Blythe Park PTA is pleased to announce we have been awarded a $1,000.00 grant from CVS Caremark to support our Bulldog Wellness/Fitness Programming. CVS Caremark was very impressed with our long-standing programming, and has been generous enough to fully fund the program for the 2013/14 school year. Thank you to CVS Caremark, and to the volunteers who make the Wellness/Fitness Program happen every month at Blythe, especially long-time program Chair Jill Glawe, Lisa Gaynor and Gail Goletz.
