Blythe Park PTA Happenings 01/21/2014

Blythe Park School’s night at the Chicago Steel will Saturday, January 25th.  It is mascot night!  The Chicago Steel will be facing the Youngstown Phantom Hockey.  The game time is 7:05pm and tickets will be $7.00 per person. Ticket purchase includes a popcorn.

This year, we have a couple of prize opportunities for high ticket sellers.

Top ticket seller will get a one person ride in the Zamboni

Number 2 and Number 3 ticket sellers will each take 5 friends to the tunnel party prior to the game to high five the players as they enter the ice.

All ticket sellers will be entered into a raffle for a piece of Chicago Steel merchandise.

All students present are invited to sing the national anthem at the start of the game.

To order tickets, go to www.blytheparkpta.org and click on the Chicago Steel logo.  Make your ticket order on-line and then submit payment to the school office in an envelope labeled with your family name.  All ticket orders must be placed by Tuesday, January 21st.

Blythe Park PTA’s annual Snowball Dance will be held on Friday, January 24th from 6:30-8:00 pm in the gym. It will be a winter wonderland of fun! Make sure to bring the whole family out to dance a snowy night away! Any questions, contact Sharon Linhart.

The January Board of Education Meeting will take place tonight  Tuesday, January 21st at 7:30pm in the Hauser LRC.  A policy committee meeting will be held from 6:00pm-7:20pm.  The agenda for both meetings can be found at the following link:

The PTA Board is looking for volunteers to fill the two general member and one alternate member slots on the Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee will develop the slate of candidates for the 2014-2015 PTA Executive board.  The slate will be presented at the March PTA Meeting, then voted on during the April meeting.  If you are interested, please contact Julie Stack at 773-251-0168.

      

PTA plans to develop an operational guide on how PTA manages day to day basis: deadlines, details,how/where to find information, forms, etc. We are looking for volunteers who’d like to find out more about the inner workings of PTA, and help create the manual.

It’s time to begin the process of nominating officers for the PTA Board for the 2014/2015 school year. A  Nominating Committee will be formed at our next General meeting to be held on Wednesday February 5, 6:30 pm.  We will also discuss the Hot Lunch survey results and upcoming events for February and March.  Hope to see you there!
