Blythe Park PTA Happenings 01/29/2014

Come join us for the February PTA Meeting. It will be held on February 5th  at 6:30pm. We  will begin the process of nominating officers for the 2014/2015 school year. Join us if you’re interested in serving on the Board or on the Nominating Committee, or contact Julie Stack. Also on the agenda: Hot lunch survey results, proposed Dist 96 calendar for the 14/15 school year.  Buona Beef will be on hand with samples of their lunch menu items.  Come try a snack! Babysitters available.

University of Illinois Extension’s Mobile Science Lab will be visiting Blythe Park on Wednesday, February 19th and Thursday, February 20th.   All 4^th and 5^th grade students will be participating in a math program.  4th and 5th grade parents,  please check your email for more information on the program.  Please read the attached flyer and return the necessary release forms.

This year’s talent show will held on Thursday, February 27th at 7pm with the dress rehearsal on Wednesday, February 26th from 3:00pm-5:00pm. The children will be asked to make a presentation to the talent show committee on either Tuesday, February 18th or Wednesday, February 19th during lunch.  Groups will be notified of their presentation date the week prior.  The presentation to the talent show committee needs to be your child’s complete act including music selection, costumes and props.

Each talent show participant must register using the on-line sign-up.  Go to the Blythe Park PTA website at www.blytheparkpta.org and click on the talent show button and register your child by Friday, February 14th.

PTA plans to develop an operational guide on how PTA manages day to day basis: deadlines, details, how/where to find information, forms, etc. We are looking for volunteers who’d like to find out more about the inner workings of PTA, and help create the manual.

The PTA Board is looking for volunteers to fill the two general member and one alternate member slots on the Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee will develop the slate of candidates for the 2014-2015 PTA Executive board.  The slate will be presented at the March PTA Meeting, then voted on during the April meeting.  If you are interested, please contact Julie Stack at 773-251-0168.
