This week is Wellness Wednesday!
Our Wellness Wednesday guests this month will be John Bazata, Kandi Pajer, and Ken Nagel from Sokol Spirit. Sokol is a Fitness organization that has been in the Chicagoland area for over 100 years. Sokol’s main goal is to help it’s participants develop a sound body and sound mind. There are many activities offered by Sokol including track and field, calisthenics, marching, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, dance, pyramid building, floor hockey, soccer, rope climb, and the German wheel. Our guests will feature the German Wheel this week when they come to Blythe. The German wheel is closely related to artistic gymnastics. Just like any sport the wheel takes time, practice, and determination to become successful. Our guests plan on showing the students how things they work on in school and everyday life will help them learn the wheel, how the wheel helps enhance everyday things and how many more things they can gain by practicing the wheel.
Have any Box Tops sitting around? All Box Tops that we send in by March 1st will count toward this year’s check to Blythe Park PTA. So check and make sure you have turned all your family’s Box Tops in by Thursday, February 27th.

 Blythe Park’s talent show will held this Thursday, February 27th at 7:00pm in auditorium. If your are unable to attend the evening performance, stop by the dress rehearsal on Wednesday, January 26th at 3:00pm. Come enjoy this show! It is sure to be a great show!

The Share Out performance will be held Friday, February 28th 6:30 pm at Hauser.
Please note the following information:
Striding Lion asks that your child wear dark colored or black pants and a brightly colored plain shirt for the performance. Hint – if you don’t have a shirt that’s plain – wear one inside out!
Please have your child ready to perform at 6:30pm: suggested arrival time 6:15pm at Hauser. The students will be seated in the auditorium in the first rows. Signs will be placed on the rows to reserve seating for them – please have your child sit with their class so they can go on stage as a group when their class performs their part of the show.
If your child is not going to be at Hauser for the performance, you can still see them hit the stage for the Dress Rehearsal – Friday, the 28th 9:30 a.m. at Blythe Park School.

 All Six Flags Read to Succeed Reading logs must be completed and returned by this Friday, February 28th. Six Flags has changed to electronic data collection so no logs can be submitted after 2/28. A log is attached below for your use
Any child who completes 360 minutes of reading by February 28th will earn a ticket to Six Flags Great America. The program is late starting this month because of a notification error, but you may transfer your child’s Book It! reading log information to the Six Flags log.

 Blythe Park PTA’s Pool Party will be held on Saturday, March 8th at the Oak Brook Aquatic Center. From 6:00-8:00pm, we will have the entire Oak Brook Aquatic center to splash around in with Blythe Park families and friends. Admission will be $3.00 per person. A snack will be provided and an adult must accompany all children attending. Sign-up now visiting www.blytheparkpta.org and by clicking on the pool party button on the right banner. Once you completed your RSVP, please send your admission fee in an envelope labeled with your name and the event to the school office. RSVP deadline is Monday, March 3rd.
