Want to keep the memory of your child’s performance at the Share Out?  Didn’t get to the performance on Friday night?  Order your copy of our DVD of the performance AND a behind the scenes look at the Residency.  All Blythe students participated in the Behind the Scenes activities! The order form is attached. Order are due to office by Friday, March 14th

Was your child a part of the show? Would you like to see images of them on Striding Lion’s website and literature? Sign and return the attached Video Release form.

      

 

‘Mixed Bag’ fundraiser starts March 10!

We are once again partnering with Mixed Bag Designs to sell reusable bags & other eco-friendly products.  A sales packet with catalogs and order forms will be distributed at school this week.  For families with multiple students, the sales packet will come home with your oldest student.  In the meantime, more information is provided in the attached documents.  Share the catalog with neighbors, co-workers, friends and family - there’s something for everyone!

OUR GOAL: EACH STUDENT SELLS 5 ITEMS OR MORE!

Spirit Day is this Friday, March 14th

This Friday, March 14th is Spirit Day!  Break out your Blythe Park spirit wear and show it off!

      

 

This year’s Geography Week will be March 17th - 21st

March 17-21 is GEOGRAPHY WEEK at Blythe Park School.

The students will be working in their classrooms on a continent mural and wearing geography related shirts. 4th and 5th grades will also be participating in a Geography Bee.

Each day during GEOGRAPHY WEEK, students should wear a geography related shirt.The class(es) with the highest percentage of geography shirts each day will be getting popcorn!!

Monday, March 17-location or landmark shirt
Tuesday, March 18- sport shirt
Wednesday, March 19- animal shirt
Thursday, March 20- different location or landmark shirt
Friday, March 21 - Blythe Park Shirt

      

 

Next Hot Lunch is Friday, March 21st. Make your reservation now!

Treat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!

The next Hot Lunch Fundraiser is Friday, March 21st, the menu will include: slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, cookie and a drink.  The cost per child is $5.00.  To register your child(ren), go to www.blytheparkpta.org and click on the hot lunch sign-up button located on the right side bar.

Please note, the 4th grade students will be going on a field trip on Friday, March 21st.  For those participating in this program, their Hot Lunch will be served to them upon their return.

If you signed up for Hot Lunch for the remainder of the year, you are all set!  No reservations are needed for the remainder of the year. Thanks for supporting the Hot Lunch Fundraiser!

The reservation deadline is Wednesday, March 19th. Reservations will not be accepted after Wednesday. Please make sure to make your reservation by then.

Mark your calendars….Art Show, District Speaker and Adult Social

5th GRADE ART SHOW-April 1st
You are invited to attend the 5th grade art show “Trees of Life”.  The Art Show will take place at Ames Elementarty School on Tuesday, April 1st from 6:30-8:00pm and will 5th grade artwork from both Ames and Blythe Park.  Please read the attached flyer for more infromation.

Check out how to receive a free weekday ticket to Raging Waves Water park this summer!

Illinois largest water park, Raging Waves Water park, located in Yorkville is offering a fitness program for kids.

Children are invited to Plunge into Fitness this spring as Raging Waves Water park joins the battle against childhood obesity. The fitness initiative runs now through April 14th, and each child completing the program requirements during this time period will receive a free Raging Waves full day admission pass.

The Plunge into fitness program requires a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise each day, which totals 25 hours for the seven week period. Any activity that increases heart rate qualifies including: walking, running, biking, playing team sports, skateboarding, swimming, jumping rope and hopscotch. For the duration of the program, each child will complete a fitness log attached below.  Once complete, a parent will sign it and the child will turn it into the school office by April 14th.
