Would you like a free Raging Waves full day admission pass for use this summer? You still have time to the  complete the fitness log.
Click on this link: http://www.blytheparkpta.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/2014fitness-log.pdf and complete the fitness log and return to the school office by Monday, April 21st. If you completed your March Bulldog Fitness Log, you can use that to fill in the Raging Waves log. The Plunge into fitness program requires a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise each day, which totals 25 hours for the seven week period.

Blythe Park School will be celebrating Earth Week the week of April 21st-25th
Please have your child wear the following color t-shirts to celebrate Earth Week.
Monday, April 21: Wear a BROWN shirt for SOIL.
Tuesday, April 22: Wear a GREEN shirt for PLANTS.
Wednesday, April 23: Wear a Blue shirt for WATER.
Thursday, April 24: Wear a YELLOW shirt for SUN
Friday, April 25: Wear a WHITE shirt for the AIR
Think about wearing a Blythe Park blue shirt for Wednesday as Blythe Park will be going on an all school field trip to the Bull/Soxs Academy that day.
Classes with the highest participation will be getting popcorn!

Just a reminder, the Wellness Wednesday Bulls/Sox Academy Field trip will take place this Wednesday, April 23rd.
Important reminders for the field trip day:
- Wear comfortable clothing that will allow students to exercise easily
- Students must wear gym shoes in order to participate
- Bring a bag lunch with a drink as we will have lunch at the facility
- Be ready to have fun!
 Also, thank you to CVS Caremark for helping to fund this field trip with the grant they awarded to Blythe Park PTA.

Parents and children are welcome to attend Blythe Park’s Spring Open House on Thursday, April 24th. The school will be open from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Stop by your child’s classroom anytime between 7:00 – 7:45 p.m. Don’t miss the 5th Grade Tug of War taking place at 7:45 p.m. outside in the amphitheater, weather permitting.
Bring out the scientist in your child and be a part of the Blythe Park’s Science Fair to be held at 6:30pm on Thursday, April 24th prior to Spring Open House. It is not too late to participate! We currently have 25 student scientists participating. We are looking for five more to reach our 30 participant goal! If we meet the goal, all participants will get to participate in the “Scientist at Lunch” program.

Need to Know Details:
Students will conduct their own science experiment at home to either display or demonstrate at the Science Fair. Each student’s display will be set-up on a card table. There will be no judging. Each student will receive a participation award. Students may work individually or in a group of no more than two students. Each participating student will be required to follow the five steps of the Scientific Method and complete and bring the Scientific Method worksheet with their experiment. Participation is optional.

The Incentive to Participate Is Back!
If 30 or more students participate in Science Night, Ms. Danno and Mrs. Gaynor will run an additional science program entitled ” Lunch with the Scientist”. All participating students, will be invited to conduct a cool science experiment during lunch.
If 50 or more students participate in Science Night, Ms. Danno and Mrs. Gaynor will the run the “Lunch with the Scientist” program for all the participating scientists and will do a fun science demonstration for the entire school during lunch at Field Day.
Display Board Available
Half-size display boards will be available at the school. PTA has ordered boards and will be offering them to science night participants for the low cost of $2.00. If you are interested in a half-size board, please check that box on your RSVP.

The Blythe Park PTA annual plant sale is here! Do your spring planting and Mother’s Day shopping while supporting our school at the same time! Also, with your order, you will be entered into a raffle for a free hanging basket (a $26 value). Same as last year, orders can be placed at www.blytheparkpta.org, (just look for the Plant Sale button), or you can use the attached order form. All payments can be sent to the school office marked “PTA Plant Sale” and checks should be made payable to: Blythe Park PTA. All orders are due on Friday April 25th. Orders will be delivered in time for Mother’s Day.

The Bargain Books and More Sale is this Friday, April 25th from 3-6pm and Saturday, April 26th from 9am-noon. You won’t want to miss it. Get ready to stock up for summer reading! There is so much to choose from: we have wonderful children’s and adult books, fiction and non-fiction, DIY, cookbooks, games, puzzles and activity books, movies, music and more! Most items are priced between $.50 - $2.00. All proceeds benefit the Blythe Park PTA and all the fantastic year-round programming our kids enjoy each month.
Be sure to stop by the gym after school Friday, April 25th or Saturday morning, April 26th. Tell your friends and neighbors - it is sure to be another fabulous sale!
We are still taking donations. Please drop any donated items in the Bargain Book box located right outside the school office.

Just a reminder, Monday, April 28th is a teacher institute day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, April 29th. Enjoy the long weekend!

Treat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!
The next Hot Lunch Fundraiser is Friday, May 2nd the menu will include: slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, cookie and a drink. The cost per child is $5.00. To register your child(ren), go to www.blytheparkpta.org and click on the hot lunch sign-up button located on the right side bar.
If you signed up for Hot Lunch for the remainder of the year, you are all set! No reservations are needed for the remainder of the year. Thanks for supporting the Hot Lunch Fundraiser!
The reservation deadline is Wednesday, April 30th. Reservations will not be accepted after Wednesday. Please make sure to make your reservation by then.

Blythe Park Student Council is organizing a fundraiser to raise money for Blythe Park School’s Angel Fund.
The Angel Fund is for students at our school that may need help purchasing school supplies, cold weather clothing, field trips, etc.
*Every Wednesday in May, the students can play BINGO during their lunchtime recess.
*Student must pay $1.00 (cash only) to participate.
*Students bring their cash to the BINGO game.
*Students without money will not be allowed to play BINGO.
*Students may not pay in advance.
