Blythe Park PTA Happenings 05/05/2014

Come to the PTA Meeting on Wednesday, May 7 at 7:00 pm. Dr. Bhavna Sharma-Lewis will be on hand to speak to the members. You’ll also have a chance to meet and greet Blythe Park’s new Principal Casimira Gorman. Babysitters available.

At the recent PTA election meeting a candidate who was nominated from the floor for the office of President was not included on the slate because she was not present at the meeting. Illinois PTA and district representatives have clarified that the candidate should have been included, therefore the election for PTA President will be re-run at the upcoming Wednesday, May 7th PTA meeting at 7 p.m. Please come and vote for Sarah Leone or Susan Casey, the candidates for the position. Thank you.

    

This week is Blythe Teachers & Staff Appreciation Week!

Here is the list of events for the teachers & staff sponsored by the PTA….which includes all of you! The theme this year is “THANKS FOR MAKING US SHINE”!

Monday-Starbucks Run and Coffee Cake Treat. Each staff member has placed their order and will be given a cup of their favorite Starbucks Coffee at 8:00am and yummy homemade Coffee Cake.

Tuesday-Each staff member will receive a “You Make Us Shine” surprise.

Wednesday - A special “You Make Us Shine” breakfast will be provided in the teacher’s lounge for the staff.

Thursday - Each staff member will be given a “You Make Us Shine” delicious treat after lunch.

Friday - “You Make Us Shine”…luncheon in gymnasium.

If you have not RSVP’d and would still like to attend and/or contriute by bringing a side dish, salad or dessert, please contact Debbie Brand at Deb_brand@yahoo.com.

    

This Friday, May 9th is the last Spirit Day of the year!  Break out your Blythe Park spirit wear and show it off!

    

Blythe Park Student Council is organizing a fundraiser to raise money for Blythe Park School’s Angel Fund.

The Angel Fund is for students at our school that may need help purchasing school supplies, cold weather clothing, field trips, etc.

*Every Wednesday in May, the students can play BINGO during their lunchtime recess.
*Student must pay $1.00 (cash only) to participate.
*Students bring their cash to the BINGO game.
*Students without money will not be allowed to play BINGO.
*Students may not pay in advance.

(Kindergarteners must have an adult from home come with them to participate in bingo.)

This year’s 4th/5th Grade Spring Music Show will be held Tuesday, May 13th at 7:00pm in auditorium.  The 4th/5th graders will perform “It’s a Musical World”.  Mark your calendar now!
