4th/5th Grade Music Show to be held Tuesday, May 13th

This year’s 4th/5th Grade Spring Music Show will be held tomorrow Tuesday, May 13th at 7:00pm in auditorium.  The 4th/5th graders will perform “It’s a Musical World”.

    

 

April Bulldog Challenge Logs due Wednesday, May 14th

Bulldog Challenge fitness logs for April are due by this Wednesday, May 14th.  Remember, the class with the highest participation will earn a free day in gym!  Mrs. Goletz will also be raffling off prizes to students who turn in their sheets!

This is the last month of the Bulldog Challenge Fitness program for the 2013-2014 school year! The program will culminate with the ACES walk on May 23rd.  If you need another log for April, click on the following link: http://www.blytheparkpta.org/?page_id=2760 and you can find one to download.

For our last Wellness Wednesday, we had an amazing field trip to the Chicago Bulls and Sox Academy!  Itprovided the students a unique and exciting fitness opportunity. We thank CVS Caremark for their generous support which made this field trip possible!
    

 

Bingo play continues this week to raise money for Blythe’s Angel Fund

Blythe Park Student Council is organizing a fundraiser to raise money for Blythe Park School’s Angel Fund.

The Angel Fund is for students at our school that may need help purchasing school supplies, cold weather clothing, field trips, etc.

*Every Wednesday in May, the students can play BINGO during their lunchtime recess.
*Student must pay $1.00 (cash only) to participate.
*Students bring their cash to the BINGO game.
*Students without money will not be allowed to play BINGO.
*Students may not pay in advance.

(Kindergarteners must have an adult from home come with them to participate in bingo.)

Variety Lunch to be held May 30th. Place your reservation starting Wednesday.

Treat your kid(s) to a VARIETY lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!

The Variety Lunch concept will be tested Friday, May 30th. The menu will include: Buona Beef Chicken Tenders, seasonal fruit, cookie and a drink.   The meal will include four all white meat breaded chicken tenders with BBQ sauce.  The cost per child is $5.00.  To register your child(ren), go to www.blytheparkpta.org and click on the variety lunch sign-up button located on the right side bar.  Reservations will start on Wednesday.

The reservation deadline is Friday, May 23rd.   No Reservations will not be accepted after Friday, May 23rd. Please make sure to make your reservation by then.

Save the Date…A.C.E.S. walk is Friday, May 23rd

Save the Date!  The ACES walk will be held on Friday, May 23rd!

The ACES walk will be the culmination of this year’s fitness program.  At 11:35am, all the Blythe Park students will participate in the ACES mile walk.  After the walk, the students will eat lunch in the amphitheater and a short awards ceremony will be conducted. All parents are welcome to join us in the walk on May 23rd!  Come to school at 11:30am and meet us in the parking lot on the south side of the school.

We are looking for some parent volunteers to help with the ACES walk.  If you are available and interested, please click on the VolunteerSpot below.  Thank you!

    

 

Make sure to turn in all the items collected and clipped this year for Blythe Park!

As the year comes to a close, make sure you turn in all the items your family has clipped and collected for Blythe Park school this year!  Keep collecting over the summer.

Keep clipping those Box Tops$ and sending them to school in a  zippered plastic bag with your child’s classroom name on it.  Each month, the classroom with the most Box Top$ turned in will receive a prize for all the students in the classroom.  We also will be keeping track by classroom for an end-of-the-year prize for the class that submits the most Box Top$. Here is a link to all the products that feature Box Top$http://www.boxtops4education.com/earn/clip/Brands.aspx

Help earn equipment to support our arts, athletics and academic programs at Blythe Park by clipping & saving your Labels for Education! Simply look for the label on participating brands, clip it out and drop in the “Labels for Education” drop box right outside the office. Please continue to bring in your used ink cartridges, empty chip bags and empty drink pouches. Collection bins are outside the front office. Lisa Gaynor @ 708-442-4509.

Clip the “Support your School” label on the back of the Tyson Project A+ products.  Drop your labels off in the collection bins located outside the office. Each coupon can be redeemed for 24 cents. Check out the program at http://projectaplus.tyson.com/

To continue our recycling initiatives, Blythe Park PTA is now recycle unwanted crayons.  All you have to do is bring your unwanted crayons to school and drop off in the crayon recycling bin located outside the office. Please leave the wrappers on the crayons.

Field Day is Wednesday, June 11th. Please note date change from Tuesday, June 3rd.

The last big PTA event, FIELD DAY, is coming up quickly!  Field Day will be held on the last day of school - Wednesday, June 11th. Please note is a date change from Wednesday, June 4th as noted on the District calendar.

We will be looking for parent volunteers to help with Field Day. Field Day will be held in the morning.  To make this event a success, we need lots of volunteers to run the games.   Please take a look at your calendar.  The volunteer sign-up will be in next week’s Happenings.
