Meet and Greet to be held tomorrow

You’re invited to the PTA Meet and Greet to be held at Blythe Park tomorrow Tuesday, August 26th from 2:00-3:00pm in amphitheater.  This is a time for students to meet their teacher and drop off supplies.  Take this opportunity to reconnect with Blythe Park families on their happenings of the summer months and celebrate the start of a new school year!  Stop by a yummy cool treat!

    

 

Tomorrow is the Kindergarten picnic!

Blythe Park PTA will hold a welcome picnic for kindergarteners and their families on Tuesday, August 26th from 11:30am-12:30pm in the amphitheater (inside if weather is inclement).  All Kindergarteners and their families are invited to come enjoy lunch and meet their kindergarten classmates.   If you did not RSVP, please do so.  Any questions, please reply back to blytheparkpta@yahoo.com or contact Julie Stack @ stackjulie@yahoo.com.

First Full Day of School is Wednesday, August 27th

The first full day of school for District 96 students is Wednesday, August 27th.  The first day will be a FULL day with a start time of 8:20am and end time of 3:00pm.

On Tuesday, August 27th all kindergarten students are asked to come to the “Kindergarten Open House” with a parent/guardian during an assigned time slot.  Please see below for your Kindergarten Open House time slot.

  • 8:25 - 8:55 - AM session students with last names beginning A-D
  • 8:55 - 9:25 - AM session students with last names beginning E-H
  • 9:25 - 9:55 - AM session students with last names beginning I-L
  • 9:55 - 10:25 - AM session students with last names beginning M-P
  • 10:25 - 10:55 - AM session students with last names beginning Q-T
  • 10:55 - 11:20 - AM session students with last names beginning U-Z

Students and parents can plan on spending between 15-30 minutes visiting their classroom, meeting their teacher and dropping off supplies.

The regular kindergarten schedule (8:20am-11:15am) will begin on Thursday, August 28th.

Early Release Mondays will begin on Monday, September 8th.  Students will be dismissed at 2:00pm.

    

 

PTA’s 2013-2014 Kick-off Meeting is this Friday, August 29th

You’re invited to this year’s first PTA meeting to be held this Friday, August 29th at 9:00am in the lunch/multi-purpose room. Please join us to meet the new Board and hear about all the programs taking place at  Blythe this year! Join PTA! Purchase a district calendar and/or school directory today

Join PTA today!  Complete your PTA membership registration and purchase a district calendar and school directory.

-To prepare the 2013-2014 Blythe Park school directory
-For distribution of the PTA weekly e-mail newsletter, ” Blythe Park Happenings.”

Your e-mail address will remain CONFIDENTIAL to Blythe Park PTA. Your e-mail address will NOT be shared with others. It will ONLY be printed in the school directory if you denote by checking the box.

For the 2014-2015 school year, the PTA Membership/School Directory package will cost $6.00, and District 96 School Calendars will cost $5.00. Please make checks payable to Blythe Park PTA ($11.00 for both) and bring your payment to the membership registration table at the Meet and Greet and on the first day of school.

Place your spirit wear order now!

Parents can you feel the excitement?  The new school year is about to begin!  So, that means it is time for the annual Blythe Park Spirit Wear sale!    Look for the spirit wear table on the first day of school to check out this year’s selection. Click on the following for the entire catalog of offerings and the order form.

If you are new to Blythe Park School or have not purchased spirit wear in the past, please consider taking a look and making a purchase for either yourself or your student…. cute shirts/sweats/flannel pants/hats/jerseys/skirts in school colors with Blythe Park logos.  These clothing items make great gifts so please share the ordering information with your family and friends who may be looking for gift ideas for your children.

Orders are due to the school office by Friday, September 19, 2014.  Please make checks payable to Blythe Park PTA.

Seeking donations for the Garage Sale to be held September 27th

As you are doing your summer cleaning, don’t throw anything away….Blythe Park PTA will be holding a garage sale on Saturday, September 27th.  We will be accepting donations of household items, games, toys, furniture, clothes, electronics in September.    So, as you are cleaning this summer save it to donate to our first annual Garage Sale!

Help earn equipment to support our arts, athletics and academic programs at Blythe Park by clipping & saving your Labels for Education! Collect

Please bring in your used ink cartridges, empty chip bags and empty drink pouches. Collection bins are outside the front office.  We will continue sending in these items to be up cycled by Terracyle.   Blythe Park will receive a monetary credit for each up cycled items. Clip

Clip the “Support your School” label on the back of the Tyson Project A+ products.  Drop your labels off in the collection bins located outside the office. Each coupon can be redeemed for 24 cents. Check out the program at http://projectaplus.tyson.com/

Collect

To continue our recycling initiatives, Blythe Park PTA is now recycle unwanted crayons.  All you have to do is bring your unwanted crayons to school and drop off in the crayon recycling bin located outside the office. Please leave the wrappers on the crayons.

Shopping at Target? Let your Target card raise money for Blythe this school year.

It is a new school year! For those of you with a Target card, please continue to use them on your visits to the store this Fall.  Blythe Park raised over $1,000 last year from the use of the Target card alone!
