 This Thursday, September 18th all District 96 elementary schools will hold Fall Parent Night. Fall Parent Night at Blythe Park will begin at 6:30pm in the auditorium with a presentation by Principal, Casimira Gorman. After her presentation, parents will head to their child’s classroom for a presentation by their teacher. Please note, this is an evening for parents only.
 To celebrate the new school year and Blythe Park creativity, we are hoping to chalk all the sidewalk squares that surround Blythe Park with beautiful artwork. So, come join in the fun!
How does it work? Sidewalk squares can be purchased for $3.00 each. Purchase a family square or one for each member of your family. Come up with a cool artistic design and come chalk your square this Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Check out the special events for each chalking day! The goal is to have our very own art gallery on display for this year’s ice cream social being held this Friday evening. The weather forecast looks perfect!

Don’t have time to chalk after school or in the evening or need time to finish your started design by Friday? Chalk your square during your lunch recess on Friday.
To sign-up, click on this link http://www.blytheparkpta.org/forms/sidewalk_art.asp. Once sign-up is complete, send your payment in an envelope to the Blythe Park office with “sidewalk chalk” and family name written on the envelope. Look for an e-mail with your square location to be communicated on Wednesday.

It will take place this Friday, September 19th at 6:30pm in the Amphitheater (inside if weather is inclement). Bring the whole family to enjoy an ice cream cone, check out the sidewalk art gallery and play some games in the gym. As you are doing some Fall cleaning now that the weather is cooler, don’t throw anything away….Blythe Park PTA will be holding a garage sale on Saturday, September 27th. We will be accepting donations of household items, games, toys, furniture, clothes, electronics on Friday, September 26th from 4:00-7:00pm. So, as you are cleaning save your items to donate to our first annual Garage Sale!

 Treat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!
On Friday, September 26th, Blythe Park PTA will be holding the first Hot Lunch Fundraiser for the year. The menu will include: slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, cookie and a drink. The cost per child is $5.00. To register your child(ren), go to www.blytheparkpta.org and click on the hot lunch sign-up button located on the right side bar. Reservation deadline is Wednesday, September 24th. This program is only for children that have the option of staying at school for lunch.
We will only be taking reservations for the first Hot Lunch at this time. In October, you will be able to make reservations for the remaining eight Hot Lunch dates.
So, sign-up and pay for the September Hot Lunch now! Once you have signed up, please send your payment to the school office in an envelope with your family name on it.

Please stop by any time during the days/ times noted below to meet with Dr. Sharma-Lewis in the District Office located at 63 Woodside Road. These informal meetings are intended to provide time to discuss any topics related to District 96, your schools or your child(ren). Meetings will be held each month to accommodate parents/community members who may not be able to meet during the school day and to provide an opportunity for open, two-way communications. Parent University
District 96 will be holding a Parent University program on Tuesday, September 30th at 6:30pm in the Hauser Auditorium. The Parent University will focus on the Common Core State Standards. Click on the flyer below for details.
