This week, the Village of Riverside will begin construction on York Road. Consequently, both York and Leesley Roads will be closed, thus impacting our arrival and dismissal procedures. During this time, we will use the school side of Kent Road for drop off. Here are some arrival and dismissal information/tips so that our students come to school and arrive back home safely:
- Drop-off will occur on the school side of Kent only.
- Large oranges cones will indicate the drop-off zone. Please do not drop children off if you are not within the drop-off zone.
- Parents who drive and wish to walk their child to the doors should not park along the school side of Kent as we need to keep traffic moving.
If your children are walking to school on their own, please remind them of safe street-crossing practices. We were able to push the start time of the project on Monday to after our arrival time. This will give us an opportunity to speak to the students during Morning Kickoff about construction and safety, thus preparing them for the temporary change of routine. Staff, police and student patrol will be outside to assist our students as they adjust to the new arrival and dismissal patterns.
