Blythe Park PTA Happenings 10/20/2014

The October Board of Education Meeting will take place on Tuesday, October  21st  at 7:30pm in the Hauser LRC.  The agenda for the meeting can be found at the following link:

It is time to paint a Halloween picture to be displayed in the windows of the local Riverside businesses.   Window painting will take place at Blythe Park School located at 735 Leesley Rd.

Here are the details:

• Painting will take place on Saturday, October 25th from 10-2pm.
• Paintings will be done on paper and then hung in local business windows
• Program available to all K-5th Graders in Riverside Township
• Registration form is attached
• Registration deadline - Wednesday, October 22nd

    

Treat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!

The next Hot Lunch Fundraiser will be held on Friday, October 24th  The menu will include: slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, cookie and a drink.  The cost per child is $5.00.  To register your child(ren), go to www.blytheparkpta.org and click on the hot lunch sign-up button located on the right side bar.  Reservations will begin this Wednesday for the October Hot Lunch.

Reservation deadline is Wednesday, October 22nd. This program is only for children that have the option of staying at school for lunch.

We will be taking reservations for the all the remaining Hot Lunches or just the October Hot Lunch. So, sign-up and pay for remaining eight Hot Lunches or just October now!  Once you have signed up, please send your payment to the school office in an envelope with your family name on it.

    

Cardio Kids will meet this week on Thursday, October 23rd and Friday, October 24th.  Please have your runners/walkers dressed appropriately for the activity and the weather and be ready to go 7:50am.   Parents are welcome to join in for some exercise as well.

Another order is being placed for Cardio Kid t-shirts.  If you would like to place an order, please complete the attached order form and return to the office by Wednesday, October 29th.

Blythe Park PTA’s Election Day Bake Sale will be held this Tuesday, November 4th from 6am-5pm right outside the library.  Let’s make the bake sale a success!  We need everyone to bake!  We also need volunteers to help run the bake sale throughout the day. Please click on the link below to sign up to be a baker and/or a volunteer.

All baked goods can be sent to school on Monday, October 3rd.  Please packaged muffins, cookies, and cupcakes into packages of 3 or 4 and include the name of the baked goods on each package.  Please note if the baked good has nuts.  If you have any questions, please contact Susan Casey at 312-446-7270

    

The Blythe Park Office is need of some gently used clothing in sizes to fit Kindergarteners through 2nd graders.  Often times our younger students have a spill and it is nice to have a change of clothes available.  If you any gently used clothes you would like to donate, please send them into the office.  Thanks!

    

A special thank you to all those who volunteered themselves, their spouses, and their children to help with this year’s Fun Fair! The games were great, the prizes were awesome and the food was fabulous. A great time was had by all thanks to our amazing volunteers and the wonderful support of our Blythe Families! See you there next year!

    

The First graders are collecting Yoplait Pink Yogurt Lids! If you have any between now and December, please send them to the First Grade room. Thank you!!

    

It’s a rainy day….It’s freezing outside….

Oh no! The Blythe Park Students can’t go outside for lunch recess.

NOW WHAT? Some of the students would love to play games in the library, but we don’t have very many games.

So….the Blythe Park Student Council is having a TRIPLE fundraiser to get some new games.

ONE: Purchase a custom made T-shirt for $15.

*The more shirts we sell, the more games we can buy, plus it’s a great way to show school spirit!

TWO: Students can buy a refreshing cup of lemonade for 50¢ during lunchOct. 27-30.

*Students just need to bring CASH only to school

Oct. 27-30 to get a lemonade.

*Students must bring the cash in their backpacks or lunch bags. Please do not drop cash in the office for the secretary to delivery to students.

THREE: Donate a NEW GAME or cash. Just drop it off at school anytime.
