Blythe Park PTA Happenings 10/27/2014

Get Lemonade to drink this week at lunch and help Student Council get some new games.

It’s a rainy day….It’s freezing outside….

Oh no! The Blythe Park Students can’t go outside for lunch recess.

NOW WHAT? Some of the students would love to play games in the library, but we don’t have very many games.

So….the Blythe Park Student Council is having a TRIPLE fundraiser to get some new games.

Here are the details:

ONE: Purchase a custom made T-shirt for $15.

Use the following link to order the T-shirts.

https://www.booster.com/blytheparkneedsgames

* T-SHIRT ORDERS ARE DUE BY NOV. 9.

*The more shirts we sell, the more games we can buy, plus it’s a great way to show school spirit!

TWO: Students can buy a refreshing cup of lemonade for 50¢ during lunchOct. 27-30.

*Students just need to bring CASH only to school

Oct. 27-30 to get a lemonade.

*Students must bring the cash in their backpacks or lunch bags. Please do not drop cash in the office for the secretary to delivery to students.

THREE: Donate a NEW GAME or cash. Just drop it off at school anytime.

That’s it….SUPER EASY AND FUN!

Any Questions, contact Mrs. King at kingr@district96.org

Halloween Festivities - Friday, October 31st

Overview of Halloween at Blythe Park:
  • School routines in the morning will remain the same.  Students will not wear costumes during the morning hours.  They are allowed to go home during the lunch hour to change. If students are not going home for lunch, parents may send the costume with their child in the morning so that he or she may change into it in the afternoon.
  • Weapons associated with your child’s costume are not allowed at Blythe Park.  Please reserve these accessories for your child’s fun-filled night of trick-or-treating.
  • Students may wear masks during the parade, but will be asked to remove them during the Halloween play.
  • Kindergarteners are encouraged to come back in the afternoon for Halloween festivities.  We ask that they be accompanied by a parent or caregiver during this time.
  • If students are changing into costumes at school, please refrain from sending a costume/face make-up that is overly elaborate and time-consuming to put on. If your child’s costume does contain many parts, consider having him or her come home for lunch on this day.
  • Students will have an extended lunch/recess period on Halloween. Recess will  be from 11:30-12:15 PM and lunch will be from 12:15- 12:45 PM.  Students staying at school will change into costume from 12:45-1:00 PM.  Students who go home for lunch on this day will return to school at 1:00 PM.
  • Parents are welcome to gather (weather permitting) in the amphitheater at 1:00 PM for our Halloween parade.
  • A Halloween play “Its a Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown”, put on by our amazing Blythe Park parents, will follow the parade.
  • Classroom parties will follow the play.  A healthy snack and fun activity will be provided to students during this time.

Milk cards are now being sold in the school office

Blythe Park will begin selling milk cards this week in the school office.   The milk card will replace individual milk tickets.  The cost will be $8.00 per card, and each card will be good for 20 individual milk purchases. Students may keep their milk card in their lunch bags; cards will be hole-punched each time a purchase of milk is made.  I am hopeful that utilizing milk cards will be a more efficient system for both Blythe Park families and our office and lunchroom staff.
