Election Day Bake Sale to be held tomorrow Tuesday, November 4th. Don’t forget to bake!

Blythe Park PTA’s Election Day Bake Sale will be held tomorrow Tuesday, November 4th from 6am-5pm right outside the library.  If you are baking, please packaged muffins, cookies, and cupcakes into packages of 3 or 4 and include the name of the baked goods on each package.  Please note if the baked good has nuts.

Students will not be purchasing baked good items during the school day but are welcome to shop at 3pm. If you have any questions, please contact Susan Casey at 312-446-7270

    

 

October Fitness Logs due Wednesday

October fitness logs are due this Wednesday November 5th. If you need a new calendar, they are available by clicking on the following link: http://www.blytheparkpta.org/?page_id=2760.  If you need a fitness log for November, they are available on the PTA website.  Please contact Jill Glawe with any questions!

    

 

Cardio Kids meets on Thursday and Friday this week.


Cardio Kids will meet this week on Thursday, November 6th and Friday, November 7th.  Please have your runners/walkers dressed appropriately for the activity and the weather and be ready to go at 7:50am.   Parents are welcome to join in for some exercise as well.

    

 

This Friday is a Spirit Day!

This Friday, November 7th is a Blythe Park Spirit Day!   Find your favorite Blythe Park spirit wear and show it off!

    

 

Bare Book Orders due by November 14th

The Young Authors’ Committee will be placing an order for blank books to use for your child(ren)’s Young Author book.  This is not a required assignment for all classes.  Please check with your classroom teacher.

If you would like to purchase any blank or lined books, please complete the order form below and return it with your money to the school office by November 14th.  Please make checks payable to Riverside Public Schools with Young Author in the memo section.

Student Council raising money for new games. Purchase your t-shirt now!

It’s a rainy day….It’s freezing outside….

Oh no! The Blythe Park Students can’t go outside for lunch recess.

NOW WHAT? Some of the students would love to play games in the library, but we don’t have very many games.

So….the Blythe Park Student Council is having a TRIPLE fundraiser to get some new games.  Last week, student council has a successful lemonade sale.  This week, order your t-shirt or donate a game.

It is Celebration of Books Time!

The Blythe Park PTA extends an invitation to all Blythe Park families to remember someone special in your life and help build our library collection at the same time. How does the program work? You select and purchase a book from the library wish list and create your personalized dedication. Blythe Park PTA will print your dedication in your book and the book will be donated to our school library.   Please use the instructions below to access the on-line wish list.  Please see the attached flyer for more information. take pART in PTA Relfections this year!

It is PTA Reflections time! Each year the National PTA sponsors the Reflections Program. This program encourages children in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade throughout the nation to explore their artistic talents.

We encourage you to unleash your child’s talents by encouraging participation in this wonderful program.To participate, your child needs to interpret this year’s theme “The World Would Be A Better Place If…” to one of six art categories. To get your creative juices flowing, a brief explanation of each category is provided below.

Literature
Poetry, Prose, Drama, Short Stories, Song Lyrics, Fiction and Non-Fiction

Musical Composition
Scores of original composition, with or without words, accompanied with CD, not exceeding five minuteshgh

Photography
Color or black and white prints or collage of photographic prints measuring up to 11×14 inches, including mat.

Visual Arts
Painting, drawing, collage, printmaking, needlework, computer art up to 20” x 24”

Dance/Choreography
DVD, not to exceed five minutes

Film/Video Production
All aspects of the film must be done by the student on DVD not to exceed five minutes.

How does the program work? Your child creates an original work of art in one of the six categories listed above. Each submitted piece will be forwarded to our local District for judging. District winners will move on to the State level. Reflections Program awards culminate with a national winner in each of the six categories. All Blythe Park entrants will be awarded a certificate and Reflection ribbon.  General Student Participation Rules and the Official Entry Form are attached. If your child will be entering, please contact Lisa Gaynor for a copy of the detailed rules for their category of interest. All entries must be received to the school office by Friday, December 5th

Poinsettia Sale in progress now until Friday, November 14th

The Holidays are right around the corner.  Do you purchase Pionsettias to decorate your home with Holiday cheer?  This season you can purchase your Poinsettias and Holiday Flowers from Blythe Park PTA.

The fundraiser will run from now until Friday, November 14th.

You can order the following flowers from Schaefer Greenhouse:

  • Poinsettia 3-4 Flowers - $8.00
  • Poinsettia 5-7 Flowers - $15.00
  • Poinsettia 7-9 Flowers -$25.00
  • 6″ Azalea - $22.00
  • 6″ Cyclamen - $18.00
Please make checks payable to Blythe Park PTA and drop in the Blythe Park office or the mail slot at 396 Blythe Rd by Friday, November 14th. Flower pick-up will be on Thursday, December 4th from 3-4pm in the lunchroom.  The order form is attached below.
