Blythe Park PTA Happenings 01/12/2015

This week is Wellness Wednesday and our guests will be players from the Chicago Steel hockey team. Students can meet some of the players they will see at the Blythe Park Chicago Steel Night which is coming up January 24th.  Don’t forget to keep tracking your fitness activities-fitness logs for January were sent home last week and are also available at this link: http://www.blytheparkpta.org/?page_id=2760

    

You’re invited to the January PTA meeting to be held this Friday, January 16th at 9:00am in the lunch/multi-purpose room. Please join us to hear about all the upcoming PTA programs.

For the kids who are attending this Winter’s “Kid’s Boot Camp program,  see you Friday at 7:45am in the gym.  Would like to join?  Pick up a flyer with a permission slip in the office.  The program is for 2nd-5th graders.

    

Blythe Park’s first Parent University will be held on Thursday, January 22nd from 6:30-8:00 PM. The topic of the parent university will be the inclusive classroom. Please see the attached flyer for more information. If you plan on attending, please RSVP to Ms. Gorman at gormanc@district96.org

Blythe Park School’s night at the Chicago Steel will be held Saturday, January 24th.  It is mascot night!  The Chicago Steel will be facing the Dubuque Fighting Saints.  The game time is 7:00pm and tickets will be $7.00 per person. Ticket purchase includes a popcorn.

This year, we have a couple of prize opportunities for high ticket sellers.

Top ticket seller will get a one person ride in the Zamboni

Number 2 and Number 3 ticket sellers will each take 5 friends to the tunnel party prior to the game to high five the players as they enter the ice.

All ticket sellers will be entered into a raffle for a piece of Chicago Steel merchandise.

All students present are invited to sing the national anthem at the start of the game.

To order tickets, go to www.blytheparkpta.org and click on the Chicago Steel logo.  Make your ticket order on-line and then submit payment to the school office in an envelope labeled with your family name.  All ticket orders must be placed by Tuesday, January 20th.

Blythe Park PTA’s annual Snowball Dance will be held on Friday, January 30th from 6:30-8:00pm in the gym. It will be a winter wonderland of fun! Make sure to bring the whole family out to dance a snowy night away! Any questions, contact Margaret Senese at margaretsenese3@gmail.com.

We are looking for cupcake donations (store bought or homemade), set-up crew, serving crew and clean-up crew.  If you can help, please click on the VolunteerSpot button below.

    

Treat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!

The next Hot Lunch Fundraiser will be held on Friday, January 23rd.  The menu will include: slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, cookie and a drink.  The cost per child is $5.00.  To register your child(ren), go to www.blytheparkpta.org and click on the hot lunch sign-up button located on the right side bar.

Reservation deadline is Wednesday, January 21st. This program is only for children that have the option of staying at school for lunch.

If you have made sign-up and paid for the entire year, no reservations are needed.
