BLYTHE PARK HELPS US BEE OUR BEST!

This week is Blythe Teachers & Staff Appreciation Week!

Here is the list of events for the teachers & staff sponsored by the PTA….which includes all of you! The theme this year is “BLYTHE PARK HELPS US BEE OUR BEST”!

Monday-Starbucks Run. Each staff member has placed their order and will be given a cup of their favorite Starbucks Coffee at 8:00am.

Tuesday-Each staff member will receive a “THANKS FOR BEE-LIEVING IN US” surprise gift.

Wednesday - A special “THANKS FOR BEE-LIEVING IN US” breakfast will be provided in the teacher’s lounge for each staff member to enjoy.

Thursday - Each staff member will be given a “THANKS FOR BEE-LIEVING IN US” delicious SWEET TREAT after lunch.

Friday - “THANKS FOR BEE-LIEVING IN US”…Luncheon in Blythe Gymnasium.

Registration for 2015-16 school year begins today Monday, May 4, 2015.

New Students: registration materials will be available on the District website on May 4, 2015.

Returning Students: registration packets will be mailed to your residence beginning May 1, 2015.

RESIDENCY – Change for 2015-16
Beginning this year, in accordance with the surrounding districts and RBHS, all families will be required to provide proof of residency each year. The Registration Packets include a Verification of Residency form. You will be required to provide copies of residency documentation. Please complete, sign and return the form, along with copies of the required documentation, with your registration packet. If your residency documentation is not in the packet you return, the entire packet will be sent back to you until it is complete. All residency is subject to verification through an investigator hired by District 96. We reserve the right to request additional documentation

April fitness logs for the Bulldog Challenge are due by this Wednesday, May 6th.

This is the last month of the Bulldog Challenge Fitness program for the 2014-2015 school year! The program will culminate with the Gail Goletz ACES walk on May 15th.  If you need another log for April, click on the following link: http://www.blytheparkpta.org/?page_id=2760 and you can find one to download.

    

Blythe Park’s Spring Run & Walk club for students in grades 2nd - 5th will meet Thursday, May 7th and Friday, May 8th this week.  Please have your runners/walkers dressed appropriately for the activity and the weather and be ready to go at 7:50am.   The students will join Ms. Gorman and Mr. Bartelt in a run around the Blythe Park Campus.  Four laps around the school equals one mile.  Students will be tracked with the goal of completing an incremental marathon.  Parents are welcome to join as well.

    

Blythe Park PTA’s school supply kit sale will run May 1st - June 1st.  All orders will be available to purchase online from The Write Stuff  and be delivered right to school.  How Convenient!

Get a Hauser School Supply Kit for your 6th Grader!

Don’t want to shop for school supplies? We’ve got the solution!  For the first time, Hauser PTO is offering a school supply kit program for all three grades at Hauser. We’re using The Write Stuff as the vendor, and the sale runs from now through the end of June.

Some highlights of the 2015-2016 program include:

• You can remove items from the list if you already have them!
• Calculators are not included in the kit, but can be ordered separately if you need one.
• All kits will be shipped to your home later in the summer – the flat shipping rate is $7.95.
• This is an online only sale. There is not an option to write a check.
• A small portion of each sale will benefit our PTO.

The Gail Goletz ACES walk will be held Friday, May15th at 11:30am.

ACES is an acronym for All Children Exercising Simultaneously and the ACES walk has been the traditional end of the year celebration for the Bulldog Challenge Fitness Program.  After Mrs. Goletz, former Blythe Park PE teacher, retired last year, we renamed the ACES walk in her honor.

All Blythe Park students 1st-5th grade will walk one mile around the Blythe Park neighborhood during the lunch/recess period.  Kindergarteners are encouraged to participate, but must be accompanied by an adult. After the walk, the students will have lunch in the amphitheater and there will be an awards presentation for students who participated in the Bulldog Challenge this year.  We will also have a healthy treat for students. Parents are encouraged to walk with the students, cheer them on, and help decorate the path.

This year’s 4th/5th Grade Spring Music Show will be held Monday, May 11th at 6:30pm in auditorium.  The 4th/5th graders will perform “Pirates -the Musical”.

    

Blythe Park had a very successful Schwan’s Fundraiser.  We raised close to $500 for Blythe Park!  You can still order Schwan’s and Blythe Park will benefit.   Blythe Park will continue to receive a 5% benefit on all orders placed within the next 12 months.
