This Friday is the last Hot Lunch for this year! Make your reservation by Wednesday.

Treat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!

The last Hot Lunch Fundraiser will be held this Friday, May 29th. The menu will include: slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, cookie and a drink.  The cost per child is $5.00.  To register your child(ren), go to www.blytheparkpta.org and click on the hot lunch sign-up button located on the right side bar.

Reservation deadline is Wednesday, May 27th. This program is only for children that have the option of staying at school for lunch.

If you have signed-up and paid for the entire year, no reservations are needed.

Last week for Cardio Kids is this week!

Blythe Park’s Spring Run & Walk club for students in grades 2nd - 5th will meet Thursday, May 28th and Friday, May 29th this week.  Please have your runners/walkers dressed appropriately for the activity and the weather and be ready to go at 7:50am.   The students will join Ms. Gorman and Mr. Bartelt in a run around the Blythe Park Campus.  Four laps around the school equals one mile.  Students will be tracked with the goal of completing an incremental marathon.  Parents are welcome to join as well.

    
 

Field Day is next Tuesday! Please sign-up to help.

The last big PTA event, FIELD DAY, is coming up quickly!  Field Day will be held on the last week of school on Tuesday, June 2nd.

We are looking for parent volunteers to help with Field Day. Field Day will be held in the morning from 8:45am-11:30am. To make this event a success, we need lots of volunteers to run the games.  Please take a look at your calendars!  To volunteer, click on the SignUp Genius button below.  If you would like to volunteer and need to bring a sibling, please do.   Just make a note on your sign-up that a sibling will be attending. Thanks!

Rain Gutter Regatta boat check in Monday, June 1st. One more week to make your boats!

This year Blythe Park will hold our first annual Rain Gutter Regatta.  The Regattas will be raced as a station at this year’s Field Day.  The Regatta is a double elimination race. Awards will be presented to the winner from each classroom and ultimately the Gutter Cup Trophy will be awarded to the overall Blythe Park Grand Champion.

Please check out the attached sheet for all the details on how to help your student build their regatta.

Two Boat Building Days will be held this week at Blythe Park to help students.

  • May 26th and May 28th - Mrs. Alvin with host during art period

Need resources on how to make a regatta?   Google how to make a raingutter regatta boat.  All kinds of help is out there.   Here are a couple of pictures of boats made by Ms. Gorman and her sons.

Remember, all boats need to be checked in on Monday, June 1st.  So, please make sure to send your child’s boat to school with them on Monday.

Last call for BoxTops before summer!

Have any Box Tops sitting around?  If so, turn them all in before summer break and then start a new collection this summer.  That way Blythe Park’s first check next school year will be big!

Returning Students: registration packets have been mailed home.

RESIDENCY – Change for 2015-16
Beginning this year, in accordance with the surrounding districts and RBHS, all families will be required to provide proof of residency each year. The Registration Packets include a Verification of Residency form. You will be required to provide copies of residency documentation. Please complete, sign and return the form, along with copies of the required documentation, with your registration packet. If your residency documentation is not in the packet you return, the entire packet will be sent back to you until it is complete.All residency is subject to verification through an investigator hired by District 96. We reserve the right to request additional documentation

Blythe Park PTA’s school supply kit sale will run May 1st - June 1st.  All orders will be available to purchase online from The Write Stuff  and be delivered right to school.  How Convenient!

3) If applicable, select kit within grade level.
4) Enter student name and gender.

Get a Hauser School Supply Kit for your 6th Grader!

Don’t want to shop for school supplies? We’ve got the solution!  For the first time, Hauser PTO is offering a school supply kit program for all three grades at Hauser. We’re using The Write Stuff as the vendor, and the sale runs from now through the end of June.

Some highlights of the 2015-2016 program include:

  • You can remove items from the list if you already have them!
  • Calculators are not included in the kit, but can be ordered separately if you need one.
  • All kits will be shipped to your home later in the summer – the flat shipping rate is $7.95.
  • This is an online only sale. There is not an option to write a check.
  • A small portion of each sale will benefit our PTO.
