Blythe Park PTA Happenings 09/21/2015

This Friday, September 25th is a Blythe Park Spirit Day!   Show off those cool tie-dye shirts or find your favorite Blythe Park spirit wear and show it off!

    

Kids Yoga will be held this Thursday, September 24th from 3:00-3:45pm in the Blythe Park Gym.  The class cost is $10.00.  You may purchase a punch card to attend multiple classes.  The first session will run until Thursday, December 17th (no class 11/19).

Please sign up by clicking on the Cheddar Up button below. Pay online or send cash/check to the school office with “Kids Yoga” on the envelope and child’s name.  Please make checks payable to Blythe Park PTA.

It is important that you make a weekly class reservation by WEDNESDAY each week. It is harder to manage class set-up when reservations are not received and children just show up to attend the class. Thanks for your help!

Treat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!

This Friday, September 25th, Blythe Park PTA will be holding the first Hot Lunch Fundraiser for the year.  The menu will include: slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, cookie and a drink.  The cost per child is $5.00.  Please register your child(ren) by clicking on the Cheddar-Up button below

New this year, you will be able to pay for the Hot Lunch Fundraiser on-line. If you would not like to use the on-line payment option, please send cash or check (payable to Blythe Park PTA) to the school office with your family name and “Hot Lunch” written on the envelope.  Similar to last year, you will be able to pay for the entire year or single lunches. PLEASE NOTE - all children must be registered by clicking on the Cheddar Up button below no matter what your payment method  is going to be (cash, check or credit).

Reservation deadline is Wednesday, September 23rd. This program is only for children that have the option of staying at school for lunch.

So, sign-up and pay for the Hot Lunch fundraiser now!

    

As you know, our district is in the process of looking for a permanent superintendent.  One of the first steps in hiring a superintendent is to develop a profile of the most desired characteristics that this individual should possess.  The Board of Education is seeking input from the staff, parents and community members in the preparation of the Candidate Profile statement. A draft copy of the profile statement is below.

Attend Community Meeting
A public meeting where consultants David Bonnette and Dennis Kelly will seek comments on the draft profile document will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd at 7:00pm in Hauser’s auditorium.

On October 2nd, Cardio Kids will begin its fall session.  Mr. Bartelt and Ms. Gorman will walk/run with the students every Wednesday and Friday mornings from 7:45-8:05 AM.  Please sign and return the attached the permission slip to this email.  We hope to see many students and parents walking and running with us this fall!

Each month of Board of Education holds a business meeting and a Committee of the Whole meeting. Both of the these meetings are video taped. In an effort to help keep all the Blythe Park parents aware of the what is happening in the our school district, PTA will include the monthly meeting dates and a link to the monthly meeting video in the Happenings.
