Blythe Park PTA Happenings 10/13/2015

Blythe Park PTA’s October Meeting will be held on Thursday, October 15th at 8:15am in the lunch room. It is time to paint a Halloween picture to be displayed in the windows of the local Riverside businesses.   Rather than painting directly on the windows, students will paint on paper. Window painting will take place at Riverside Parks and Recreation, Water Towers, 10 Pine Ave.

Here are the details:

• Painting will take place on Saturday, October17th from 10:30am-1:30pm
• Paintings will be done on paper and then hung in local business windows
• Program available to all K-5th Graders in Riverside Township
• Registration form is attached
• Registration deadline - Wednesday, October 14th
• Cost for participation - $1.00

    

Full week of Cardio Kids this week!  Cardio Kids will meet on both Wednesday and Friday.

Please have your runners/walkers dressed appropriately for the activity and the weather and be ready to go at 7:45am.  The students will join Ms. Gorman and Mr. Bartelt in a run or walk around the Blythe Park Campus. Four laps around the school equals one mile.  Students will be tracked with the goal of completing an incremental marathon.  Parents are welcome to join as well.

    

Kids Yoga will be held this Thursday, October 15th from 3:00-3:45pm in the Blythe Park Gym.  The class cost is $10.00.  You may purchase a punch card to attend multiple classes.  The first session will run until Thursday, December 17th (no class 11/19).

Please sign up by clicking on the Cheddar Up button below. Pay online or send cash/check to the school office with “Kids Yoga” on the envelope and child’s name.  Please make checks payable to Blythe Park PTA.

Please make sure to make a weekly class reservation by WEDNESDAY each week regardless of your payment method (cash, check or credit).

This Friday, October 16th is Blythe Park PTA’s annual Fall Fun Fair!  Bring the whole family or a night of fun!

COME PLAY ALL THE GAMES!
All games in both the gym and Hallway can be played from 6:00-8:00pm.  Fun Fair tickets are $.25 or 5/$1.00 and will be sold at the door.

ENJOY DINNER AND DESSERT AT THE FUN FAIR
Pizza and Taffy Apples will be available for purchase.

PIzza Parlor will open at 5:30pm
The Parlor’s menu will include Cheese and Pepperoni Pizza by the slice for $2.50, Salad $2.00 and Capri Suns and Water Bottles for $.50.  The Pizza Parlor will be in the lunch room.

Taffy Apple stand to open at 6:30pm.
Come make your own red or green taffy apples with all the toppings for $2.00 a half apple and $3.00 a full apple.

WIN A SWEET TREAT AT THE CAKE WALK!
Come play the cake walk in the auditorium from 6:00-8:00pm or until all the baked goods are won!

    

To make the fun fair a great family event, it takes an army of volunteers.  We still are in need of volunteers to run the many gym and hallway games.  Also, the cake walk is looking for sweet treats to give away.  So, please click on the SignUpGenius button below and see how you can help out.  It is so much appreciated.

    

Treat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!

The October Hot Lunch is Friday, October 23rd. The menu will include: slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, cookie and a drink.  The cost per child is $5.00.  Please register your child(ren) by clicking on the Cheddar-Up button below

Similar to last month, you will be able to pay for the Hot Lunch Fundraiser on-line. If you would not like to use the on-line payment option, please send cash or check (payable to Blythe Park PTA) to the school office with your family name and “Hot Lunch” written on the envelope.  You can pay for the remainder of the year or single lunches.

PLEASE NOTE - all children must be registered by clicking on the Cheddar Up button below no matter what your payment method  is going to be (cash, check or credit).  If you have paid for the entire year last month, no reservation is needed for the remainder of the year.

Reservation deadline is Wednesday, October 21st. This program is only for children that have the option of staying at school for lunch.

The Lagrange Area Department of Special Education (LADSE) invites you to attend a Parent Information Event to be held on Thursday, November 5th and Tuesday, February 9th.  The events will focus on Anxiety in Children and Adolescents and will feature Dr. Patrick McGrath.  Please see the attached flyer for additional information. An online registration is encouraged for this free event.
