Blythe Park PTA Happenings 10/19/2015

Full week of Cardio Kids this week!  Cardio Kids will meet on both Wednesday and Friday.

Please have your runners/walkers dressed appropriately for the activity and the weather and be ready to go at 7:45am.  The students will join Ms. Gorman and Mr. Bartelt in a run or walk around the Blythe Park Campus. Four laps around the school equals one mile.  Students will be tracked with the goal of completing an incremental marathon.  Parents are welcome to join as well.

    

Kids Yoga will be held this Thursday, October 22nd from 3:00-3:45pm in the Blythe Park Gym.  The class cost is $10.00.  You may purchase a punch card to attend multiple classes.  The first session will run until Thursday, December 17th (no class 11/19).

Please sign up by clicking on the Cheddar Up button below. Pay online or send cash/check to the school office with “Kids Yoga” on the envelope and child’s name.  Please make checks payable to Blythe Park PTA.

Please make sure to make a weekly class reservation by WEDNESDAY each week regardless of your payment method (cash, check or credit).

Treat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!

The October Hot Lunch is Friday, October 23rd. The menu will include: slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, cookie and a drink.  The cost per child is $5.00.  Please register your child(ren) by clicking on the Cheddar-Up button below

Similar to last month, you will be able to pay for the Hot Lunch Fundraiser on-line. If you would not like to use the on-line payment option, please send cash or check (payable to Blythe Park PTA) to the school office with your family name and “Hot Lunch” written on the envelope.  You can pay for the remainder of the year or single lunches.

PLEASE NOTE - all children must be registered by clicking on the Cheddar Up button above no matter what your payment method  is going to be (cash, check or credit).  If you have paid for the entire year last month, no reservation is needed for the remainder of the year.

Reservation deadline is Wednesday, October 21st. This program is only for children that have the option of staying at school for lunch.

This Friday, October 23rd is a Blythe Park Spirit Day!   Show off those cool tie-dye shirts or find your favorite Blythe Park spirit wear and show it off!

    

The Blythe Park Staff and Student Council are teaming up to promote school pride while raising funds for a great cause.  They are selling Blythe Park School Pride T-shirts.  All proceeds from the T-shirt sales will go towards sponsoring a child from a poverty-stricken area of Ghana.

When a child is sponsored, everything changes for that child.

• He or She gets to attend school
• He or She gets a hot lunch everyday, in some cases her only meal of the day.
• He or she is given immunizations.

BUY SOME SHIRTS AND HELP A CHILD!  The Blythe Park School T-Shirt Fundraiser promotes school pride and educational opportunities for all children.

Have any Box Tops sitting around?  The first submission of Box Tops is coming up in November.   So check and make sure you have turned all your family’s Box Tops in by Wednesday, October 28th.

The Lagrange Area Department of Special Education (LADSE) invites you to attend a Parent Information Event to be held on Thursday, November 5th and Tuesday, February 9th.  The events will focus on Anxiety in Children and Adolescents and will feature Dr. Patrick McGrath.  Please see the attached flyer for additional information.
