Halloween at Blythe Park - Friday, October 30th

Overview of Halloween at Blythe Park:
  • School routines in the morning will remain the same.  Students will not wear costumes during the morning hours.  They are allowed to go home during the lunch hour to change. If students are not going home for lunch, parents may send the costume with their child in the morning so that he or she may change into it in the afternoon.
  • Weapons associated with your child’s costume are not allowed at Blythe Park.  Please reserve these accessories for your child’s fun-filled night of trick-or-treating.
  • Students may wear masks during the parade, but will be asked to remove them during the Halloween play.
  • Kindergarteners are encouraged to come back in the afternoon for Halloween festivities.  We ask that they be accompanied by a parent or caregiver during this time.
  • Students will have an extended lunch/recess period on Halloween. Recess will  be from 11:25-12:10 PM and lunch will be from 12:10- 12:40 PM.  Students staying at school will change into costume from 12:40-1:00 PM.  Students who go home for lunch on this day will return to school at 1:00 PM.
  • Parents are welcome to gather (weather permitting) in the amphitheater at 1:10 PM for our Halloween parade.
  • A Halloween play, put on by our amazing Blythe Park parents, will follow the parade.  Thank you, Mrs. Smith, for organizing this event!
  • Classroom parties will follow the play.  A healthy snack and fun activity will be provided to students during this time.

Need any gift cards? The Scrips November deadline is the 3rd.

Scrips November deadline is Tuesday, November 3rd.  Place your order now!

What is Scrips Fundraiser?
Scrip is just another way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards in place of cash, checks, and credit cards. You purchase gift cards from your PTA at face value, and your coordinator orders those cards at a reduced price. The difference is an instant rebate for your organization.

It’s really that simple! Great Lakes Scrip Center has over 300 of the country’s biggest brands, including grocery, department stores, gas stations, restaurants, hotels, home improvement, and more. Just by using scrip to pay for your normal weekly purchases, you can easily raise $500 or more per year. It’s time to put your shopping dollars to work!

Orders will be delivered to you by Friday, November 6th. Orders can be placed online with checks payable to Blythe Park PTA for those who do not enroll in PrestoPay online (optional). Orders can be filled out using attached form and checks sent to school office.
