Last call to place your school pride t-shirt order. Order deadline is today!

Today is the last day to purchase your Blythe Park School Pride T-Shirt.

The Blythe Park Staff and Student Council are teaming up to promote school pride while raising funds for a great cause.  All proceeds from the T-shirt sales will go towards sponsoring a child from a poverty-stricken area of Ghana.  You may place an order on-line (see below), at the table in the book fair or with the hard copy form attached.

When a child is sponsored, everything changes for that child.

  • He or She gets to attend school
  • He or She gets a hot lunch everyday, in some cases her only meal of the day.
  • He or she is given immunizations.

BUY SOME SHIRTS AND HELP A CHILD!  The Blythe Park School T-Shirt Fundraiser promotes school pride and educational opportunities for all children.

Got creativity? Work on a Reflections entry over Thanksgiving Break.

It is PTA Reflections time! Each year the National PTA sponsors the Reflections Program. This program encourages children in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade throughout the nation to explore their artistic talents.

We encourage you to unleash your child’s talents by encouraging participation in this wonderful program. To participate, your child needs to interpret this year’s theme “Let Your Imagination Fly…” to one of six art categories.

To get your creative juices flowing, take a look at this youtube video and the description of each category below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkRcJCDfIjs

District winners will move on to the State level. Reflections Program awards culminate with a national winner in each of the six categories. Take a look at the National award-winning entries in the PTA Reflections Program gallery at www.ptareflections.org

All Blythe Park entrants will be awarded a certificate and Reflection ribbon.  The student entry form is attached as well as a link to the rules for each category. If your child will be entering, please contact Lisa Gaynor for a copy of the detailed rules for their category of interest. All entries must be received to the school office by Friday, December 4th

We have a talented group of students at Blythe and we look forward to receiving some great creations. Contact Lisa Gaynor at ltgaynor@aol.com or 708-442-4509 with any questions.

Cultural Inclusiveness Forum – Monday, November 30th

All District 96 families are invited to attend this community event to be held at Ames School – all the PTO/PTAs have been asked to help spread the word…

We are living in a global community and sparking our children’s interest in other cultural norms, values, beliefs and languages will set them up towards a path of LEADERSHIP AND ENGAGEMENT.  We have great resources within our own community. Let’s discover these hidden riches that may have a profound effect on the future and welfare of our community.  This forum will be held at Ames School on Monday, November 30th from 6:30-8pm.  For more information, contact Pearl Cervantes @ (708) 447-0759.
