Last two Blythe Park days at Five Below are Monday and Tuesday!

Five Below will donate back 10% of all your holiday purchases to our PTA from December 2nd - December 8th. Make your list and head over to the North Riverside or Countryside locations. Please bring the attached flyer to the event, so we can get credit for your purchase. Look in your child’s backpack for a hard copy of the flyer.  For more information contact Rory Dominick.

We are now offering a Girls and a Boys Yoga class.

Here is the schedule for the rest of the fall session.
12/10 girls
12/17 boys

Class runs 3pm - 3:45pm on Thursdays and the cost is $10 per class. Please sign up here by clicking on the Cheddar Up button below.

While we can accommodate day of registration/payment it’s always preferred to have sign ups the day before class.

This Wednesday will be Wellness Wednesday and our guest will be Trisha Kaufman.

She will be demonstrating her roller derby skills and teaching the students some basic rollerskating skills. Students in 3rd-5th grade will have the opportunity to try roller skating, but they are required to bring a bike helmet in order to skate and a signed awareness form. 

Ms. Kaufman will be bringing skates, so the students do not have to have their own skates and if a student does not want to try the skates, they can use a scooter board instead. Students in kindergarten through 2nd grade will use scooter boards.

Treat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!

The December Hot Lunch is Friday, December 18th. The menu will include: slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, cookie and a drink.  The cost per child is $5.00.  Please register your child(ren) by clicking on the Cheddar-Up button below

Similar to last month, you will be able to pay for the Hot Lunch Fundraiser on-line. If you would not like to use the on-line payment option, please send cash or check (payable to Blythe Park PTA) to the school office with your family name and “Hot Lunch” written on the envelope.  You can pay for the remainder of the year or single lunches.

PLEASE NOTE - all children must be registered by clicking on the Cheddar Up button above no matter what your payment method  is going to be (cash, check or credit).  If you have paid for the entire year last month, no reservation is needed for the remainder of the year.

Reservation deadline is Wednesday, December 16th. This program is only for children that have the option of staying at school for lunch.

Illinois will be releasing results from last spring’s PARCC assessment in the next week.  Illinois PTA will be providing two webinars, The New Illinois Learning Standards-What Parents Need to Know on Wednesday, December 9th from 12pm-1pm and on Tuesday, December 15th from 7pm-8pm. The webinar will cover why Illinois has updated it learning standards, how assessment has changed with PARCC, what the score reports parents receive will look like, and what resources are available for parents to support their children at home.  There will also be time for parents to get their questions regarding standards and assessments answered.
