Blythe Park PTA Happenings 01/25/2016

Blythe Park PTA will hold an Adult Social on Saturday, January 30th at 7:00pm at Chef Sangria-La in North Riverside. The ticket price of $40.00 per person will include food buffet of Chef favorites, two drink tickets and a chance to win a $100 door prize. The evening will feature a split the pot raffle and some other fun raffles. Grab your spouse, a friend and join us for a night out supporting Blythe and a local business.

This month, District 96’s Board of Education Meeting will be held at Blythe Park School. We will meet in the multipurpose room this Tuesday, January 26th at 7:00 PM. If time allots in your schedule, please consider joining us.

Blythe Park’s Winter Kids Boot Camp kicks off this Friday.  For the kids who have signed up already,  see you Friday at 7:40am in the gym.  Still time to join?  Pick up a flyer with a permission slip in the office.

The program is for 2nd-5th graders and will run on the following dates: 1/29, 2/5, 2/12, 2/19, 2/26, 3/4, 3/11 and 3/18.

    

LAST OF JANUARY YOGA
This Thursday will be the last BOYS yoga class for January.   Class will run from 3:00-3:45pm this Thursday in the gym and the cost is $10.  If you would like to sign your son up, please click on the CheddarUp button below.

NEW FEBRUARY SCHEDULE FOR GIRLS
Make plans to join us for After School GIRLS Yoga! Grab your friends and learn some great ways to relax the mind and body. Class will run from 3:00-3:45pm on Thursdays in the gym and the cost is $10.  Buy a punch card for all 7 classes and receive one free class!

The February and March Sessions Dates:  2/4, 2/11, 2/18, 3/3, 3/10, 3/17 and 3/24

If your daughter is interested in participating in the February/March session, please sign her up by clicking on the CheddarUp button.   Sign-up deadline is Wednesday of each week.

Blythe Park PTA’s annual Snowball Dance will be held on Friday, February 5th from 6:00-8:00pm in the gym. It will be a winter wonderland of fun!   We are are looking for volunteers to help with set-up, serve food, supervise the dance floor, clean up and to donate treats.  Please click on the Signup Genius below if you would like to help.

The Blythe Park Spirit Wear sale starts today!  Blythe Park PTA will be selling five items - A Rain Jacket, Long Sleeve Moisture Wicking T-shirt, Hooded Sweatshirt, a Water Bottle and a Blanket.  Check out pictures of each of them in the attached flyer.

Samples of each will be on display right outside the school office.   The sale will run through Wednesday, February 10th.

You may purchase by credit card by clicking on the CheddarUp button below or by cash or check.  With cash or check orders, please complete the attached flyer and return the school office in an envelope with your family name on it.

The Blythe Park PTA extends an invitation to all Blythe Park families to remember someone special in your life and help build our library collection at the same time. How does the program work? You select and purchase a book from the library wish list and create your personalized dedication. Blythe Park PTA will print your dedication in your book and the book will be donated to our school library.

Once purchased, the books should be ready for check out within a few weeks of receipt.  There will be a note sent to the person or persons you dedicate the book to (if not part of Blythe Park Community, please include address to send notice to). You may now purchase books at any time even in the summer and keep Blythe Park’s Library filled with new and exciting books for our kids to read!

If you want to donate a specific book that is not on the list, please check with Blythe Park Librarian, Patty Prodanich, to make sure the book is not currently in the Library’s collection and/or that we don’t have multiple copies as space is limited.

Please fill out the attached order form for each donation.  Please return your dedication form with the book or books you purchased to the cabinet in the office or give them to Julie Laube.  You may purchase the book on your own but please fill out the form below and deliver the book(s) and form(s) together.
