 This year’s talent show will held on Thursday, February 25th at 7pm with the mandatory dress rehearsal on Wednesday, February 24th from 3:00pm-5:00pm.
The requirements for participating in the show are the following:
- All acts are prepared and rehearsed by the child or group on their own time
- All acts can be no longer than two minutes in length
- Music needs to be approved by Mrs. Smith. If possible, please supply a copy of the music for the show.
- Participants are responsible for supplying any props and costumes needed for their performance.
The children will be asked to make a presentation to the talent show committee the week of February 15th during lunch. Groups will be notified of their presentation date the week prior. The presentation to the talent show committee needs to be your child’s complete act including music selection, costumes and props.
Each talent show participant must register using the form attached below. The registration deadline is Monday, February 15th.

 Last call for Blythe Park spirit wear orders! All orders must be placed by end of day Tuesday, February 16th.
Blythe Park PTA is selling five items – A Rain Jacket, Long Sleeve Moisture Wicking T-shirt, Hooded Sweatshirt, a Water Bottle and a Blanket. Check out pictures of each of them in the attached flyer.

 After School GIRLS Yoga is in full swing! Grab your friends and learn some great ways to relax the mind and body. Class will run from 3:00-3:45pm on Thursdays in the gym and the cost is $10.

 This Friday February 19th is the Blythe Park PTA, You Are My SUNSHINE, Fun Lunch. The PTA will serve all the students lunch at no cost to their families. Remember not to pack a lunch on Friday!
At this year’s lunch, the menu will feature macaroni and cheese, oranges, carrots, orange sherbet and crystal light.
Kindergarteners are invited to join us for the lunch too. Each kindergartener will need to be accompanied by an adult guardian. A flyer will be sent home with an RSVP form.

The program is for 2nd-5th graders and will run on the following dates: 2/19, 2/26, 3/4, 3/11 and 3/18.

 For the month of February, Blythe Park PTA will be holding a Box Top contest. The class that clips and submits the most Box Tops during the month of February will win a popcorn treat. So, clip, clip, clip during February! The last Box Top submission deadline for the year is March 1st and we want it to be a big one!
After week one….it is 3rd Grade in the lead with 64 and they are the only class who clipped and sent in Box Tops last week. Let’s rally this week Blythe Park!

The Executive Board needs your help to keep our PTA strong for our children and teachers! Blythe Park PTA is looking for members who are interested in serving on the executive board for the school year of 2016-2017 Elected officers will be installed at the May general membership meeting.

Each term is one year. No person can serve more than two consecutive terms in the same position. Therefore, if an office holder has completed the one year term, he/she is welcome to apply for one more year in that same position. However, it is mandatory that office holders seeking a second term in the same position, office holders seeking a different position on the executive board, and general members seeking a position on the executive board submit a formal application to be considered by the nominating committee. Every person desiring a position on the Blythe Park PTA executive board must submit a formal application. All applications are confidential and will only be discussed between members of the nominating committee.

 Treat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!
The February Hot Lunch is Friday, February 26th. The menu will include: slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, cookie and a drink. The cost per child is $5.00. Please register your child(ren) by clicking on the Cheddar-Up button below:
Similar to last month, you will be able to pay for the Hot Lunch Fundraiser on-line. If you would not like to use the on-line payment option, please send cash or check (payable to Blythe Park PTA) to the school office with your family name and “Hot Lunch” written on the envelope. You can pay for the remainder of the year or single lunches.
PLEASE NOTE – all children must be registered by clicking on the Cheddar Up button above no matter what your payment method is going to be (cash, check or credit). If you have paid for the entire year last month, no reservation is needed for the remainder of the year.
Reservation deadline is Wednesday, February 24th. This program is only for children that have the option of staying at school for lunch.

 The Blythe Park PTA extends an invitation to all Blythe Park families to remember someone special in your life and help build our library collection at the same time. How does the program work? You select and purchase a book from the library wish list and create your personalized dedication. Blythe Park PTA will print your dedication in your book and the book will be donated to our school library.
Once purchased, the books should be ready for check out within a few weeks of receipt. There will be a note sent to the person or persons you dedicate the book to (if not part of Blythe Park Community, please include address to send notice to). You may now purchase books at any time even in the summer and keep Blythe Park’s Library filled with new and exciting books for our kids to read!

If you want to donate a specific book that is not on the list, please check with Blythe Park Librarian, Patty Prodanich, to make sure the book is not currently in the Library’s collection and/or that we don’t have multiple copies as space is limited.

You may purchase the book on your own but please fill out the form below and deliver the book(s) and form(s) together.
